This dire show keeps bringing down the BBC1 Xmas day schedule year after year.
Hopefully from now on it will be consigned to boxing day. This show ain't no Fools and Horses, and doesn't deserve the Xmas day prime slot. |

And grow up with the OTT nonsense (BiB) Watched it, loved it, laughed my arse off! The outtake between Brendan and his grandson was sweet and funny, calling him granddad instead of character name, granny! Great episode, looking forward to the new year special! |

that's when fools and horses really took off after 82, going to a 50 minute episode..some classic moments.

This was being said three or four years ago, that the show was running out of steam and wasn't as funny as it once was. I'd disagree though, I think the standard has held up very well.
blackadder managed to keep things fresher by changing the periods in history when it was set, but even that finished after 4 series and the jokes were becoming predictable. imho this is whats happened to mbb. |

Regardless of what you make of it as a show, it got 6.1 million viewers and comfortably higher than any other comedy aired on BBC1 this year (well, with the exception of a few episodes of Still Open All Hours). |

tbh i think that it hasnt been as good as the first 2 series. some greast comedies knew when to finish because the material had run out and they didnt want to repeat the gags or drop the standard. fawlty towers and the young ones being prime examples.

I posted this on the ratings thread but I thought I'd post it here. Here are all the ratings for Mrs Brown's Boys. The 'overnight' figure is compiled of people who watched the programme live and those who watched a recording of the programme before 2am. These are the ones that are mostly reported in the media. The percentage share is the percentage of all people watching TV at the time who watched Mrs Brown's Boys.
The official ratings are compiled of recordings/catch-up viewings for up to 7 days after the broadcast. I think this includes viewings on iPlayer via the TV only. The timeshift is the change/increase between the overnight and official figures. Series 1 Code:
Episode Overnight Official Timeshift Episode 1 (21 Feb 11) 2.64m (16.4%) 2.84m 0.20m Episode 2 (28 Feb 11) 2.63m (18.2%) 3.19m 0.56m Episode 3 (07 Mar 11) 2.68m (19.5%) 3.48m 0.80m Episode 4 (14 Mar 11) 2.99m (22.4%) 3.85m 0.86m Episode 5 (21 Mar 11) 2.96m (21.0%) 3.91m 0.95m Episode 6 (28 Mar 11) 3.01m (20.5%) 4.10m 1.09m Average 2.82m (19.7%) 3.56m 0.74m Code:

The only reason the Christmas Day special was ever so slightly down this year was because it went out in the late time slot of 10.30pm. Those figures from the last few years are hugely impressive for a sitcom though.

Buster getting the Christmas trees and the yo yo. One question though as been bugging me. At the sing along at the end who was the fourth girl there was Betty Kathy Maria who was the other female? |

Better episode tonight than Christmas day's. More laugh out loud moments. It's stupid really, the acting is awful, the jokes are obvious and you can see them coming a mile off, yet somehow it works. You can't help but laugh, it's endearing.

Who ever said it was a family comedy? It isn't, and has never pretended to be.

Got to say I loved it. Bono getting his lines wrong was brilliant. Mrs brown to the vicar- you had one line and you f... it up.

I loved this one - much better than the Christmas episode.
It took a while to warm up but the Marijuana stuff was hilarious. |
