Wonder if the head chopping would be televised nowadays.

Anyway waving a bit and going to dinner parties with food made by the best chefs in the world is hardly work.

She's not having to walk into town everyday to get her shopping no matter what the weather as most do at her age.

She's not having to pick what to do that day a bar on the fire or eat.

No she knows she has a cushy life you couldn't get that out of her hands with a crowbar

There has been 3 monarchs who have taken a different regnal name, so it's not that common, but there's probably a decent chance that Charles will choose George VII.

All this 'persistent heavy cold' stuff does make one wonder if it's sugar coating to prepare us for news of something a bit more serious. But I do hope she's up and about soon.

I just wish the anti-monarchists would stay well clear of a thread such as this. Go away! Shoo!

Yet again you're projecting your view of Charles onto the Queen.

Also, you keep ignoring what you've been told about her strong views on abdication.

Just as well that's not what she does all day.

I would suggest you read up on what her job involves, but I doubt you'll bother because it would mean you couldn't continue to vent your prejudice.

In fact read up completely on history and taxes in general.

Personally I would only refer to benefits claimants who pretend to be ill or pop out kids willy nilly, whilst pretending to be single as evil parasites leeching off the state. The queen well past retirement ages works much harder than most folk”

Oh I am aware of the crown estates and the deals that were cut. The fact is though that going back through the centuries these were ill gotten gains through conquest.

Technically if you are of the view that the estates and properties are rightfully theirs then they could theoretically be richer than they are.

If they don't want the job they are free to abdicate or indeed to legitimise their status by formally asking the approval of the nation. It is a sick joke that never in our history have the people of Great Britain and Northern Ireland been given a chance to decide how we wish to be governed at the highest level.

What is an insult is education slipping to the extent many people see that mentioning two peoples names in one sentence can't see that's not comparing the people mentioned with each other

Of course this 90 year old woman who still works every day has never done anything more than walk to the shops.

Since when did shaking a few hands and going out for Michelin star standard food several times a week classify as work.

Why do you expect Charles to be bad as King? You say the Queen "doesn't do anything" apart from waving and going to dinner parties - if so then how could anyone possibly be bad at that?

If you think Charles will be bad because he will interfere with politics then you need to decide what kind of Monarch you'd prefer - one who keeps quiet or one who speaks out. You can't critics the Queen for doing nothing but then say Charles will be bad because he will be active.

They'll be no state pension, given those who've not saved for their retirement, chances are, yes, hey will be.

I wonder whether the queen would be privately insulted or feel snubbed if her son rejected his primary birth name on beconing monarch

It doesn't. But that's not what the Queen does as "work".

You too should go and read up on what she does.

Loads of people referred to her as Princess Diana though, but I guess that was just in everyday use.

Sex toys with the Queen's face on them?! Oh my! 😲 Where do you get them?

No. I'm not here to educate you.

There's plenty of information out there that describes the Queen's average working day. Someone even posted a link further up the thread.

However your sarcastic language suggests you won't bother looking. Better to think your prejudices are accurate than find out for certain they're not, eh?

There's a difference between an option exisinting, and someone being prepared to take it.

Hence, it's not an option for her. She'll never do it.

Plenty of people know the truth. No point in me wasting my time trying to educate those who aren't prepared to listen.

Her red boxes which she receives regularly wherever she is. Has to read and sign many papers a week. Probably more than some office workers do.
