And I'm not sure why people are pretending it's still just a cold. I'm sorry but I've never know "just a cold" to keep someone down for 12 days and that's only since she didn't go on the train journey, so it must have been with her for a few days previous to that. If she has had "just a cold" for over two weeks now when most people, even in their 90s can shake it off in about a week at most, then there is something else wrong that is affecting her ability to heal from "just a cold". She has been kept indoors and is resting, presumably she is on all kinds of cold medication and has been for some days now, she has the perfect healing environment for much longer than is needed...but isn't healing. That's not right. It's not "just a cold"
I don't really care for rolling news about every sneeze as some people put it, but it's the lies and secrecy surrounding it all that's stupid. If they can't pluck up the courage to tell the nation she is more than just a little bit poorly then what the hell is going to happen when she does die? Would you prefer it if they invented a serious illness even though she's actually perfectly OK except for a persistent but relatively minor illness which many people in this discussion have said they've had themselves and that it took some time to get over? |

I don't really think she is imminently on the way out but I do think this maybe puts paid to the idea that she could surpass her mother's longevity

Prince Philip is ore or less hanging by a thread and yet he was over this "cold" in a few days, but The Queen who is in much better health is somehow unable to shake it after 2 weeks? I'm sorry I don't buy it. |

No, I just want the media to admit what is actually wrong with her, not dress it up like we live in some child's book. No one here has said they have had a cold for now going on for more than 2 weeks. People have said they have had a cough or an infection following a cold, but the cold virus simply doesn't stick around for 2 weeks, especially in someone who is resting and not doing anything to exacerbate her condition. I have relatives who are 90+ and they get sick, but have never been bed bound for 2 weeks with the cold, it simply isn't a cold, why are we pretending it is?

I still wonder if there is some security issue - starting from when they were whisked to Sandringham by helicopter.

Agree with everything you said. To have her actually disappear from sight for this long is just so suspect. If it's a chest infection/whatever why not just say it? I still wonder if there is some security issue - starting from when they were whisked to Sandringham by helicopter.

She may have the type of heavy cold that then leads to a hacking cough and coughing fits. I, unfortunately, end up with coughing fits every time I have a cold. As a result, I often have to cancel my public appearances (teaching), as appearing to be dying from coughing in the middle of a lecture or class is not a good look. |

All I would say is that the longer she is out of sight, the more suspicion is raised that things may not be OK. That's not saying she's dying, indeed she may be getting much better as we speak, but just something to keep an eye on as the days pass.

A security issue which doesn't prevent the rest of the family from appearing together in public?
She is known to take the events she has missed very seriously. So all I am saying is either this has to be more than a heavy cold - yes even at her age - or there is something else going on. |

Do you normally see her daily ? It can be weeks months at a time before I catch sight. If this thread and the media were ton about it I doubt my of us would have realised she is missing.

This is not the soviet union circa 1955, if the Palace say the Queen is too unwell for public appearances then that's how it is.

If she's not dead or dying, I think they'll make a point of getting her on show as soon as possible to stop the rumours.
