Yaaaay has she finally popped her Germanic clogs

Nobody cares
I'm not a Royalist but this is unpleasant and presumptuous.

Do you think they've both got the shits? I would travel with a cold but not with the shits.
Especially with those awful train toilets that already smell like someone's died in them

I hope she remembers to suck on a couple of "Tunes" before giving her Xmas Day speech... "A second class return to Dottingham please"
The speech will already have been recorded. Usually about two weeks before Christmas.

I assume you will eat your words when she actually does go and you see how many people DO care.

They are both almost 100.

When someone is that old and feeling unwell they cannot simply just wrap up and hope for the best
The Duke is 95. The Queen is 90.

Even if they didn't feel up to the train journey, they could travel door to door in extreme comfort and warmth - comfort superior to what a lot of folks have in their actual bedroom. It's less than two hours by road. Faster with a police escort.

Their funerals have been planned down to the last detail for years. It won't take long to put it all into place when required.
How can they plan whene everyone who is everyone is available ? At least 2 weeks would be needed...like most funerals these days

I care. The Queen's demise will not be anything to cheer about, she will be succeeded by Charlie and Camilla and I know who I would prefer for our Monarch.

The Queen has done a superb job over the years and has never failed us. It will be a very sad day when she is no longer our Queen.
Very well said.

"she will be succeeded by Charlie and Camilla and I know who I would prefer for our Monarch".....forgetting that nothing would actually be any different.

"The Queen has done a superb job over the years and has never failed us".......she's done nothing for you though so how can you say if she has or hasn't failed you ?

I'm looking forward to the day this country grows up and gets rid of this family sitting on millions of quid still getting cash off us. Don't give me this tourist money guff. People would still come.

Thankfully we have netflix, dvds and binge watching options these days. I think it will be avoidable.
...and lives that can be easily filled without thinking/ reading/ seeing too much about the monarchy, for those of us who don't subscribe

(even though I'm completely self-contradicting by contributing to this thread! )

They have the Buckingham Palace dinner because all of the family don't gather at Sandringham for Christmas.
No, William and family will be at Kate's parents this year and not at Sandringham.

And if that day ever comes, how much better off do you expect to be?

Why could they not go by car, they have every kind of luxury car at their disposal and it's not that far from London to Sandringham - especially with a police escort. Or even the helicopter
There is something very odd here, I expect the Mail will have the inside story
They seem to be letting us down gently for the news one of them is croaking

They still always have the pre-Christmas lunch for the benefit of the minor royals.

Only if you build it, then they will come.

The Military, the Police, the church, the government and the media. The plans are all laid out.

They could sneeze and infect people. That would be very very bad. If it was one of the heirs it would obviously merit a newsflash and constant coverage.
OH has this royal cough and cold and (as far as I know) has not been near Buck Pal - think it was some sneezy worker at our Chrissy Do spreading his germs last Friday.
