People upstairs must be watching Lion King just heard "I just can't wait to be king" Thought it was Charles announcing the news for a moment.

I've thoroughly enjoyed Limmy's trolling on Twitter about the Queen's demise today.

The Queen has a cold!

In fact, it's so bad, that she flown to Norfolk instead of getting the train.

I bet those who use Southern Trains would have loved that option?[/QUOTE

£10 says she doesn't make it to church on Sunday.
I think you know something the rest of us don't!

Prince Philip looks awful in the photo on the BBC news article.

All security and train was waiting for her and wernt stood down. Then all of a sudden they both got a cold. It was a security threat so made up story saying they both had colds. Some may believe it but some are not stupid.

Merry Christmas too the royals
So you're saying it was a security threat that prevented her from attending church this morning then??

If the Queen and Prince Philip's cold has been anything like the one I've had for the last week then I don't blame her. If I had a choice I wouldn't have travelled anywhere or seen anyone. As it is I've spent the last 4 days trying to be enthusiastic about presents, eating, drinking and making small talk while inside I've felt like death and just wanted to go to bed. Now I've got a 3 - 4 hour drive home tomorrow before another lot of guests arrive on Tuesday and a further lot on Friday. The good news is that I felt relatively ok for about an hour around midday but now my symptoms seem to be starting up all over again.

It would be the ultimate climax to a year of unprecedented celebrity passings.

I had similar thoughts today. It seems odd that she is not well enough to stroll along to a church service yet is ok to attend dinner and other events behind closed doors. If you have the flu, you just stay in bed, even at Christmas. And her public appearance was the most important thing she had to do that day.

Judging by her personality, she would have surely attended the service and then headed to bed if she left a bit rough. Her inner circle would understand, it's the general public who need to see the usual routine and feel reassured.

So I suspect we are being lied to and she is quite ill. Let's hope she and her husband pull through.

I think should step down as her tole as Queen as it is obvious she is not well enough to do her duties anymore. Also she deserves to be relaxing in her old age instead of going all over the place opening new buildings.

There have been other countries who have had their head of state step down from their role and let their son take over like the Netherlands and Spain. I dont know why the Queen cant do the same

I'm sure that she herself (and her doctors, advisers and family) are fully aware of the implications and realities of aging and will plan and have planned accordingly.

Over the years, she has said that her Vows are unbreakable and she wishes to honour them "for the whole of her life"

Some, or many, of Her day to day 'Duties' can be amended or delegated to allow that, as circumstances dictate.

I see no problem, just an unwanted interest by many outsiders to micro-manage someone else's life.

She hasn't been seen for 10 days now... I'm beginning to fear that "a heavy cold" might be a euphemism... Wouldn't she have had the flu jab?

You can still get heavy colds after having the flu jab. I'm sure she'll have had one at her age. Philip too.

Isn't there any proof that the flu jab actually save lives? I seem to remember one year when they apparently predicted the wrong strains of flu virus so it was as useful as a chocolate fire guard

maybe the Queen should do what the Japanese do and start wearing a surgical face mask, in addition to the usual gloves, to avoid catching germs

I've had the flu jab but I've still had a stinking cold which has lasted since the beginning of December and has now taken root in my sinuses. The flu jab is not effective against colds.

Vaccine effectiveness varies wildly according to flu strain and age group, but for people in her age group the chances of getting the flu after the jab will probably only be reduced by something like 30% or less.

Whatever she has it certainly seems to have knocked her for six.

I was think that she hadn't been seen for a while now, but I put that down to the fact that I hadn't really sat down & watched the news for a few days now.

Flu jab only works on flu, If she has a cold, a heavy cold even, the flu jab doesn't stop colds!

Dying in 2016 is so 'common', there's no way she's going to be part of it.

Has she even had any engagements over Christmas to miss? I'm not sure she has other than the service. Does she normally do anything on New Years day?

I think if she were seriously ill they'd have her in a hospital by now and it would be near impossible to keep that quiet. They didn't do so with Philip.

Maybe her and Phil have got friends and family round and are playing Charades, Sardines and tinkiling on the old Joanna with "Knees Up Mother Brown" and "Doing the Lambeth Walk"

As is traditional at this time of year.

This is true I live in King's Lynn and if she was in the Sandringham Private hospital in the town. It would have been known by now, they would not be able to keep it quiet. Too many gossips around here/
