Has she even had any engagements over Christmas to miss? I'm not sure she has other than the service. Does she normally do anything on New Years day?

I think if she were seriously ill they'd have her in a hospital by now and it would be near impossible to keep that quiet. They didn't do so with Philip.
I was thinking the same. The whole point of going to Sandringham at Christmas is so that she can have a break with her family. As far as I'm aware she hasn't had any public engagements to attend since the Christmas Day service.

I'm sure she's just had a nasty bout of flu. There's no way she'd have wanted to sit for a church service on wooden pews if she had 'proper' flu because it makes you feel really dire. She'd have been recommended to stay in the warm in bed.

Maybe her and Phil have got friends and family round and are playing Charades, Sardines and tinkiling on the old Joanna with "Knees Up Mother Brown" and "Doing the Lambeth Walk"

As is traditional at this time of year.
And when she does snuff it then it will be ol Charlie singing and dancing

Talking hypothetical: If the queen did die would there be TV and Radio blackouts or with 24/7 news coverage Sky, BBC and ITV would do rolling news coverage?

Prince Philip looks awful in the photo on the BBC news article.

He's just aged. Looks like he's just had something to eat and got stuck.

I can't see pay channels getting getting turned off as people pay to watch them same goes for streaming services.

Not really. He just looks old.
Bearing in mind he's 95, I'm not surprised.

Well the BBC channels would only show stuff related to the Queen and maybe ITV too. BBC and Sky News would devote their coverage exclusively but most of the international channels would carry on. I can't see the likes of Al Jazeera or Russia Today devoting coverage to the Queen. CNBC and Bloomberg would likely carry on as normal for the rest of Europe and the US but would of course report on the Queen's death. They would be mainly talking about the economic implications of it though. I can't see obscure satellite channels blacking out altogether, but maybe the shopping channels would stop broadcasting the day of the funeral. Of course there's always European satellites to watch Maybe I'll invest in a motorised dish when it happens.

Didn't they used to post health bulletins of the monarch on the gates of the palace?

Maybe with so many deaths of well known people this year they don't want her to be lumped in with the rest so will announce it in 2017.

Of course who knows how many famous people will die in 2017.

At his age he must be fed up of waiting to get it.

I may joke about it but there must be a small part of Charles who does wish she would die so he can finally get it.

But she could out live him and even if not I can't see him having it to long before he dies or is forced to step down due to age/health.

Even if it was true they wouldn't confirm it until they were ready. There are plans to be put in place for succession, along with funeral arrangements and family grieving, all of this will happen before the press and the public are told anything. To be blunt we have just had 2 days public holidays and are just about to have another, any public mournings days will need to wait until after the new year as unfortunately the country cannot come to a stand still. They have to wait for a good day to announce bad news, sounds brutal but thats just how it is.

I think that may not be the alternative. There may be a plan in place for it to go straight to Wills. Otherwise the Queen would have retired years ago and passed the baton to Charlie then.

I honestly think a reason she has never stepped down is she doesn't trust Charlie with it.
