Totally agree with this. In the show's darkest hours - Jack P Shepherd inevitably comes to the rescue.
I like him, but the recent stuff has let him down, like how nobody has bothered he sped down a street and crashed the car causing someone to be burned up. Even the police haven't bothered looking into it further. And now that Clayton has been locked away he has no further issues despite being on the brink of causing mass murder.

How do you know this. I have seen the actor on tv and he is just like Platt. Vice appearance etc

I like Demon David, fun to watch and manages to deliver some of the best lines. 
They probably thought "Meh, it's only Anna who has been hurt, who cares?" and moved on.

I cant stand him either and I agree he needs a good slapping. As far as violence goes it doesn't bother me in the least.

I put that down to the script. He plays a version of himself and manages to say his lines.
