EE - Biggest mistake of 2016?

1. Rushing Peggy's death- should have been at least a month

2. Letting go of certain characters that had potential (Belinda, Les and Pam)

3. Masood's exit should've been temporary ( similar to Jake Wood's)

4. The Gavin saga

5. SOC not giving a proper interview since taking charge- this may not be an issue for some but personally, I think he should have given an interview for his vision of the show, plans, teasers ect

& If Ronnie and Roxy have the ridiculous death that is rumoured that will be a strong 6!

The reboot. The show suddenly changed tone and direction in the most obvious and unnatural way giving us EastEnders II. Looks and sounds like the old EE, apart from when they forget the doof, doofs, but the show is now a poorly written parody of 1980s EastEnders which wasn't twee, sentimental and dull.

Paul's death. His and Ben's relationship had so much more storyline potential.

Mark Jnr & Grant. A 20+ year secret reveal ruined

Gavin and the retconning of Den's history just so Gavin can be shoehorned into it

Vincent & Claudette's Get The Mitchell's campaign, instigated by Claudette, only for it to turn out that Claudette and not Mitchell Snr was responsible for Vincent father's death

The recast of Johnny with a wet blanket of an actor who has had bugger all to do all year

Oh right, another mistake

Making Martin Fowler a massive cuck, Martin should have left Stacey after that or at very least kept hostility with Kush, but nope, Martin bends over and starts raising someone else's baby willingly and he's best mates with the guy who knocked up his now-wife.

Doesn't he want his own child with Stacey?

I was happy with Martin around the square but now he's just a massive sore.

Gavin.

The Gruntathon - Paul's death being turned into yet another Mitchell 'gangster' farce.

Axing Les and Pam.

Axing Belinda.

The joke of the King Weeble 'beating up' Vincent over a stupid club name and the police investigation into this major 'crime lord' being totally forgotten.

I am not sad that Peggy was killed off, whether BW has changed her mind about returning or not. That path has been blocked (and by her own actions) and should be celebrated imo.

However, the indulgent Babsfest, followed by a fast track exit for Peggy was a bloody joke. If BW truly wanted to the character to be killed off to cut off any future return temptation, then they could have had it happen off screen, with the Mitchells being informed and then the subsequent stuff with the family could still have happened. We knew her cancer had returned after all. So please DTC/BW, let's not pretend this was anything other than a massive BW ego massage.

Axing Belinda and the Cokers even Paul! Also the whole Masood clan and Nancy going.

Turning Lee Carters depression storyline into him befriending His bullies for an inside robbery job. Not good at all.

Jay and that Linzi - and adding more grief to his life.

Rushing Peggy's death.

Lauren's return - I like her friendship with Whitney and Stacey, but she adds nothing. Abi on the other hand....Has shone even if she has been relegated to a background character.

Ronnie being controlled by Jack - this woman is a killer ffs. She wouldn't stand for this shit.

Bin-gate, Tree-gate and that bloody panto taking up air time.

Gavin - his creepy appearances and the sitcom demise of him. What is he....a 1000?

Dona/Vincent baby storyline.

Ronnie and that Andy chap - granted he was a looker but boy he is a bad actor.

Nasty Babe not getting her just desserts.

Shirley relegated to a background character.

Kyle - what was the point?

Forgot about that.

What a totally pointless story. Still not sure what it was even about.

I think they were hoping Andy's sexiness would distract us from whatever the hell was going on in that ridiculous storyline. To be fair, it kind of worked.

True

All I remember is a load of conversations in the park. And them all standing around suspended in time.

The biggest mistake will be letting Phil survive. The Xmas episode should be him dying

Bringing in Sean o'Connor. He's made the show awful. Never hated it as much as I do now.

Subjecting us to another year of ghastly Carter boredom

Lee having screen time after being axed but before being written out. Surely a better option would have been to have him in the background like Johnny and just put him in a taxi never to be seen again when his contract expires

Andy - loads of build-up, going round in circles and for what?

Kathy's lack of storylines. They have brought her back from the dead in a truly unbelievable fashion yet done effectively nothing with her.

Shakil... enough said

And this never-ending panto boredom is ridiculous!
