EE - Favourite episode of 2016?

The episode where Phil took Peggy out for a day around London. I thought it was flawless, I especially loved them sailing down the river to the tune of Moon River. I really enjoyed their interaction in the pie shop and outside their house too. We also had the witches of Eastwick getting along and sorting out the dinner. Too notch episode for me.

Yes, it was a lovely episode. And controversially I liked her death episode as well. It was just the aftermath that was poor, IMO.

I'm not very good at remembering individual episodes but there were a couple in the aftermath of Paul's death which were incredibly powerful.

I also thought the break-in the Vic, the entire episode, was EE at its best. A brilliant mixture of humour and grittiness, without trying too hard to impress.

It's hard to remember individual episodes but I'll go with the Stacey psychosis storyline at thestart of the year when Charlie died and Kat found out she had a son, I don't know if all that was in the same episode though Also Peggy's last episode, it wasn't perfect but it's up there.

I didn't like Peggy's death episode although seeing Pat again was nice,

The break in episode was good, I just think the raid should have been paced a bit quicker.

That single day went on for two weeks Lol (that wasn't an exaggeration)

It did! that's why it's hard to remember what happened in each ep. There was Charlie dying, Kat finding out she had a son, Stacey having a breakdown. All in a day!

Stacey's psychosis episode where they were all in the Vic and arguing about how to handle the situation. Kat, Belinda and Jean were all there.

You're right it was. I was trying to think what the occasion was

The episode where Charlie Slater died was incredibly powerful. I always felt like it was a bit rubbish of the producers to kill him off, and that there really wasn't much need, and in a way I still believe that, but it was a fitting send off for him.

Pam and Les's final episode really affected me for some reason. I just loved them, and I was so sad when they left.

Peggy's death was also a highlight. Reading above, it seems perhaps it wasn't very well-received but I thought it was a really fitting tribute. A bit rushed, maybe - I would've loved to have seen her have a scene with Claudette, Kathy (although I read there was, but it was cut for time), Sam, Ronnie & Roxy, and a bit more with Sharon.

Stacey's psychosis episodes were superb. Also I loved the episode where Phil went to see Peggy and ended up in Louise's school. I loved the episodes when everyone found out that Bobby was the killer and also the episode where he got sent down and then Max returning.
The Vic Raid episode was phenomenal and I've really enjoyed the episodes this week so far.

I really enjoyed Martin & Stacey's wedding episode that ended with Bobby whacking Jane with the hockey stick and blood spurting over the cake.

Another one was New Years Day with the Carter wedding and the climax to the Dean plot. Likewise, the episode where Dean was in court and the scenes focused on Ronnie, Roxy, Linda and Shirley in the Vic kitchen was an excellently written episode and it was different to not see Dean in court and instead have the episode focusing on the victims instead.

The Slater fortnight was fabulous, even if it did drag on. Charlie's death was a real tearjerker considering it was only Charlie, and Kat played a blinder during all of her scenes, including the 'Goodnight Daddy' one. A scene that sticks out for me is the one in the Square Gardens where Kat tells Stacey Charlie has died and the two actresses work so well together and really made the scene. Stacey being sectioned was also a great episode, and it allowed James Bye to really shine too. The Kat/Sharon scenes were also really good, with Sharon encouraging Kat to go back inside and talk to Charlie before he passes. Whilst the Slater drama was playing out, Sharon found out about the Christmas Day car crash and rewatching the scenes between her and Phil made for brilliant viewing. If those scenes had been the real end of their marriage, it would have been a fitting end, but unfortunately this was not the case.

With SOC's episodes, I have actually liked the exit episodes, the ones that spring to mind is the Sonia one (with the excellent Shirley scene and the "I hope she bites you!" line), Masood's after the heart to heart with Denise and also Pam and Les' exit, along with Whitney's hen do ep that saw her allow herself to be happy after years of turmoil. and this ended with the first Julia's Theme of SOC's reign and it was a very poignant and happy moment that ended the hate crime story.

As others have said, the episode where Phil took Peggy out was excellent, beautiful filming and one of the best Mitchell episodes, and I also liked Peggy's death even if selected parts were removed.

When Ollie was knocked out of his high chair by Lee and Nancy fighting, however that is more the scene as if I recall the rest of the episode was rubbish. Also, when the Carters went swimming and Mick forgave Nancy was again a lovely scene, but most likely part of a boring episode.

The Vic Raid episode was one I really enjoyed (and IMO one of the best SOC episodes so far), then in the last 10 minutes being thrown from a happy environment full of laughter and Drunk Kathy into a dangerous and scary situation that was unpredictable and barely gave the viewer time to react at what was going on, my heart was in my mouth when one of the robbers took Ollie and threatened to throw him down the stairs, and the little touches like Linda telling Whitney to stay behind her just made it for me. One noticeable thing was how Mick picked up his son as opposed to chasing after them for revenge once they had left, and I now feel the Carters are being written a whole lot better and act like a family as opposed from lurching from one shouting match to the next.

Bobby hitting Jane was gruesome, I wasn't expecting it to be as hard hitting as it was.

Another fabulous episode was the one with Roxy, Ronnie, Linda and Shirley as they waited for Dean's verdict to come in. The best I've seen Sam since her return.

I agree with most of the ones that's already been said but while I disagree about Peggy's death episode (it had some nice bits but generally the episode could have been more) the episode I really liked that week was the Thursday episode where Phil found her and then had to get the word spread and the bit at the end with the letter was 1: a lovely addition, 2: heartbreaking & 3: very well done

I enjoyed The Vic Raid. The Slater Stuff was good too right back in January

The entire Slater fortnight in January was outstanding. I also really enjoyed Peggy and Phil's London day out.

Recently I thought the Vic burglary was very well done. I loved how they lured us into a false sense of security with an episode largely focused on a party in the Vic, and then that final ten minutes was like a punch to the gut Great stuff.

Pam and Les centered Episodes when they got Justice. As nice as the episodes were, I still wish they hadn't have left.
