Me, neither. Love the atmospheric background but am finding it rather ponderous.( and before anyone squeaks, I normally like drama with a slow build-up)
Its drab and very slow. Turning off before I nod off.

Is the coughing really a necessary part of the plot or could it have been done away with as it's very annoying? Perhaps he's choking on the weird green BBC smog?

I gave it ten minutes.
It looked as if instead of the old trick of smearing a thin film of vaseline over the camera lens for effect, they'd used treacle.

My eyes I don't need to see Toby Jones in a sex scene
All that coughing and spluttering is getting tedious, along with the grainy picture, greenish filter and mumbling - actually now they're in court you can hear what they're saying.

So there will be a BBC version of Poirot? It will be weird without David Suchet, I always picture him now.

Omg that cat is beautiful. Ok the blood isn't pretty.
How about one of today's cast, Toby Jones, as Poirot. His head's the right shape, for a start.

Lots of padding and seems more about Jones character than the actual murder.

Toby Jones is no Charles Laughton that's for sure. I loved the film from the opening scene, but this is just dreary.

If he's coughing blood it's more than gas damage.

Charlie Higson playing this part as Bob Fleming would've enlivened it no end!

Dull, dull, dull. I won't be back for round two.

Charles Laughton was a magnificent actor. There will never be anyone like him again.

I haven't seen the Charles Laughton film for years.... so I'm enjoying this, maybe more than ATTWN as that had been done to death over the years and I knew who did it

That bloody green fog is doing my head in, but I do want to see how (or if) they pull off the deception in this version, so I'll be recording tomorrow's episode.

Not a patch on the 1957 version though.

I was looking forward to this but found it very plodding and I couldn't make out a lot of the scenes as it was so dark.
I don't have the best eyesight but I thought it was tedious

He's appearing in a rather duff film on the horror channel at the moment.

Too much padding for me but I think it as get more interesting in the second episode. It's certainly nowhere near as good as 'and then there were none' but still watchable.

Somewhat enjoyable hour, spoilt a little by the smog atmosphere even inside people's home - was it really as bad as outside?? And that last five minutes was just a 'what-the-hell' moment for me.
That said I'll be tuning in tomorrow to see the outcome.
