Mine would probably be 2003,2005,2007,2009 and since then they haven't been as good.

2001 - Kat saving Zoe from Roxy Drake and Zoe's return to the Slaters.

2007 & 2009, nothing can beat 07 though.

I'm new. 2015 is the only year when I was properly watching. Although because of my mum I remember 2014. Shirley was like 'Ees your bruther!' or something to Mick when he was beating up Dean.

Mine is 2012 - but only because I was outside on Clarendon Rd the day they did it - 23rd Oct 2012, and 8-10 of them came out in one go for their lunch, most still dressed in the xmas dinner clothes - didn't know at the time of course, although I could sort of suss out that the day's filming must be close to xmas - so imagine my surprise when seeing the episode and my photos of the cast - and their clothes .. guess the reason they were all together when they came out is because they may have left the dinner tables where they sat - jacksons, branning etc. My best Clarendon Rd visit ever - can¨'t remember how many I met that day, but meeting so many in one go - surreal -normally I'll just meet one or two at a time.

it was the one with Derek Branning dying of a heart attack. Nothing much else that xmas as far as I remember - wonder if it's still on youtube ? Nearly forgot, Liam was there - and he was "away" at the time - Oct 2012 - so surprised to see him.

Oh yeah I heard about that one. I dont think an affair reveal would be so popular as a christmas story ten years later. And I just noticed Abi at the front, she is so young lol.

2007 must have been such a strange time for many viewers with so much of the cast changed with new characters.

Best: 2007 (Stax), 2009 (archie's murder), 2005 (watts' secrets) and 2013 (janine's arrest)

Worst: last year (2015) and micks your brother (2014). Dull and unoriginal.

2004 remains a guilty pleasure of mine as it's watts central and nothing too dramatic but the drama and chemistry between the family meant it didn't need the stunts etc

Seems like there were no stand out Christmas's in the 90s?

another xmas I won¨t forget either is - 2014 when Emma Summerhayes died. Well, only 3½ months later I saw her ghost - outside again - April 2015 - who comes walking up Clarendon Rd ? Emma S. - and back out again about an hour later. Thought perhaps she might have started on Holby, but found out later she'd been stand in for the yet to return Kathy

2002 was also another memorable Christmas Day episode - Billy/Litllte Mo's wedding and Jamie died.

I thought 2010 was an ok Christmas the ending of Stacey on the square was a great departure.

She died on the first day of 2015 didn't she? When she was hit by Roxy's car which put Ronnie in a coma and she died of brain damage after collapsing into Max's arms. I barely remeber because I wasn't really watching much then.

that's right - I hoped she wouldn't die - and remember I looked at the cast list for first week of January - and she was in it every day - so thought she would survive and find out who the killer was. But the BBC must have put her there deliberately - we can't trust them lists.

2001 was brilliant as I loved the focus on lots of families, the Slaters with Kat rescuing Zoe from the pimp by headbutting her, then we had Little Mo & Trevor and the gravy, without doubt one of the most shocking Christmas day scenes EastEnders has done and a true testament to a show that had serious balls to allow that to be shown on Christmas day. We also had a punch up at the Fowlers with Jamie knocking out Martin after finding out he was the father of Chloe and Peggy smashing up the Vic. 2001 did have it all!
Other notable mentions-2007 obviously, probably the last Christmas where there was so much anticipation for an Eastenders Christmas day episode and it truly paid off and some more. 2008 was also good but mainly for Suzy Branning's rant ''Vinegar lips and Ben conceived with a weak sperm''
Looking further back, I loved 1997 i think it was with the Mitchell family dinner and everyone kicking off and walking out.
The worst ones for me was 2012 and Derek Branning's death and last years which just didn't feel at all like Christmas and a complete waste of a Christmas day episode.

2001 must have been the first xmas episodes I saw - if I saw them - but honestly cannot remember them. That time Zainab's house burned, and her then husband with it, was xmas too wasn't it ?

Little Mo, Trevor, gravy ? what happened -did one of them pour gravy over the other one ?
