Just continuing a spat they had earlier in the year after Kenneth Clarke's broadcast comments about the Tory leadership election.

Well of course they going to go deep into his personal life, they need to fill the air time. It's cheap and easy news for them.
A news channel I was watching yesterday (not UK based) did the right thing, a brief report and played his songs into breaks and quick mentions throughout the hour. Meanwhile, Sunrise dreamteam back on air today. |

Since Eamonn left, it's really showed up how bad Sunrise is on Mon-Thurs. Zero charisma between the two new presenters with the same annoying guests reviewing the papers.
Sky News is responsible for keeping Kevin Adams on tv after Fame Academy. Fri-Sun is more tolerable thanks to Stephen Dixon. |

Stephen and Isabel this morning. Definitely the best 'team' IMO.

The new set is so cold and unwelcoming (and they appear to be broadcasting from the staff canteen). Both the presenters look uncomfortable standing or sitting and there's very little rapport between them.No doubt it was all hugely expensive to achieve very little.
When Sky present from the big screen in their white glass box, some angles bring two ceiling mounted camera into view. Yesterday there were 5 people huddled round the table, it looked stupid and the camera angles were woeful. It irks me particularly because I don't like BBC Breakfast either, so Sky Sunrise has always been my first choice. And now it's a choice between shit and shit. The production visuals of BBC Breakfast leave me cold too, as do the presenters whom have the warmth and charisma of a frigid fish. After all the fuss about their move to Salford and new state of the art studios, what we got was two people in a shoe box, I mean seriously?. I find their fake sunrise backgrounds drab and miserable, and the way they camera pan during the intros, bringing the robot cameras into view, further contributes to a feeling of emptiness. Even a human cameraman would add some feeling of life. Both are starting to make the turquoise of ITV News look appealing! For me, you can't go wrong with a background featuring a newsroom or a production gallery to inject a feeling of life and activity into the show. And if for practical reasons they can't do that, at least please hire a decent interior designer! |

The UK doesn't have a particular good choice of breakfast shows, All three fall short of the mark on different things.
And none of them play any songs. ![]() I think if we could have Sky Sunrise in GMB's studio, that would be a start

Why would you expect a breakfast news program to play songs?
And I'm not on about playing full out music videos, just a nice song to open with or go into the breaks. You know, to lighten up the mood. |

Breakfast shows don't always have to be hard news you know.

To be fair, GMB do use songs to come out of the break when music related guests are in or if there is an actor from a certain TV show/film (E.g. Star Wars theme). Then in the summer if the weather crew are somewhere nice they take a nice sunny shot and have some music playing them out of the break. It works nicely, but sometimes there is too much of it (which is typical of GMB) |
