I'd better not try and post this in the radio forum, or I'll be moaned at in no uncertain terms...
The Guardian has made an EXCELLENT job of compiling a list of the 50 best podcasts of 2016. There is such a wide selection, that I GUARANTEE that podcast listeners will find something of interest.
Why listen to podcasts over Christmas and New Year ? If you're a student on long and frustrating journeys to be with the family over the holidays. Or perhaps you're stuck with the ( probably extended ) family who want to play board games or watch mindblowingly boring stuff on TV ( I visited relatives for Christmas once, and had to watch the same episode of East Enders THREE times ! ).
Anyway, check this list out :

And have an at least bearable, if not fantastic, Christmas and New Year !
