What is the human condition to you?

Is it the acceptance that the universe invented a way to know itself and we (human beings) are one of those vessels? We don't merely exist to hunt and survive, but are able to contemplate the universe (although we are most likely still in the very primitive stages, particularly in our understanding of dark matter, dark energy and quantum mechanics).

And there maybe more technologically advanced civilizations in other parts of the universe/multiverse like us who have discovered the laws of gravity, quantum mechanics etc.

I'm always trying to relate my experiences to the behaviour I see in animals or living things in general. Humans are are an exceptional species obviously but not supernatural as far as I can tell.

In that sense I'm not really preoccupied with the questions of what it means to be human specifically.

Life is just about making you stay here as comfortable as possible before you die basically

I would say it's highly likely that there'll be another species out there that will be much more advanced than us because of being around for a lot longer than we have. There's just too many planets/solar systems etc out there for there not to be. We have some fantastic minds on this planet so I don't think it'll be THAT long (thinking decades and decades etc) before the things you have mentioned are fully understood.

In many ways humans are still in primitive mode, but they will develop, and life will be different for them. Some will go to Mars and establish communities there. Technology is moving along for all this to happen. I'd say that the universe does know itself.

The human condition is an illusory state of mind.

Universally, we are the same as any other animal. Anything else is a fiction by those unable to accept that.

That can't be true - all animals on earth are different. and universally mostly unknown. However, to say that universally we are the same as any other mind can be true

By 'universally', I meant as in importance in/to the universe, apologies I didn't put the effort in to word it in a clearer way.
I'm refuting OPs nonsense about being created by the universe as a thought vessel or whatever.

In terms of mind, we have evolved to be more intelligent and self-aware, that's about it.

We have to deal with the Uncertainty before we can truly know our position

In the grand scheme of things Homo sapiens means absolutely bugger all.

No more or less than any other organism - except that we are destroying the planet's biodiversity at an incredible rate of course.

And our 'success', as the most intelligent species on the planet - will be our doom.

Merry Christmas everyone!

So an ant is as important to the universe as a human?

The Dinos were also very successful and look what happened to them! Humans haven't learned any lessons and are on their way to Doom.

Of course.

Interesting that you chose an ant for comparison. Smaller = less important to you?

Human condition now is people take everything for granted, material things mean more than real love and most seem to crawl over the next person to get up the ladder whilst stamping on their fellow man in the process and being nasty about it. Thing I love is karma and when it happens to nasty people its fun

I won't believe in karma until Katie Hopkins gets run over by a bus full of immigrant cleaners on their way home from work

There is no such thing as Karma - never has and never will be.

It is a concept (much like some religions) that gives comfort to people.

I always laugh when some brutal dictator (for example Mugabi - still going at 92), a scumbag criminal or just a plain common bastard snuffs it in their 80's or 90's after living a life of treating others like the shit on their shoe that some bright spark always pipes up with the cry of 'Karma'.

It would be lovely if true.

It's not.
