Mark will read his last ITV News bulletin at 6.30 tonight having announced his retirement. From now on Mary Nightingale will go solo making it the end of ITV's two-headed news bulletins. All success to Mark in the future.

Mark used to be my favorite newscaster, and while sad to see him go, he's been so miserable the last few years. A face like a slapped arse.

It's pretty difficult to inject humour into a news bulletin...

ITV news has really gone down this past year, well according to the IWasBored household, please feel free to pick apart this opinion at your will. Not so long ago, I much preferred it to the BBC news, but not anymore. It's format seems more like a tabloid.

Wrong, Tom Bradby does it on the ITV Late News and I do not like it,
I much prefer Julie Etchingham or one of the others apart from Rageh Omaar

That's a shame, I much prefer him to the big headed Tom Bradby, Mark Austin has more gravitas.

He did confirm on Twitter after his last ITV News bulletin that he is not leaving ITV.

He is staying with them doing documentaries in a similar way to what Sir Trevor McDonald did for ITV.
