What makes a Scrooge at Christmas? Is it not joining in with everything, refusing to spend money, not giving to charity, being miserable - what do you think?

Yep, I'm dreading that on Saturday. They don't know what they want and always get a round in for people who can't decide either and then start arguing over paying or try to pay the precise amount by asking around for £2.57 "because I've only got another £20"

Then after being served they stand in the most awkward place usually blocking the bar.

Tourist Christmas drinkers acting like total morons for two weeks.

Sit the frak down, drink your shandy and shut the hell up.

I stated I didn't like breadsticks at my office buffet lunch today and that apparently was enough justification for someone to quite seriously call me a Scrooge.

I don't like my co-workers at all, that's probably a better reason.

It's hard not to be acutely aware of the madness of consumerism at this time of year. 😒

The annual pilgrimage to wethespoons. Queue for 40 minutes to buy a drink, and attempt to drink it whilst packed in like sardines.

There's not really much other choice in where to drink either now, as most of the smaller pubs have vanished since wetherspoons and the smoking ban.

That I don't like drinking and shouting to be heard over other people who are shouting with a backing of Macca's 'Wonderful Christmastime' or Jona Lewie.

No gifts for anyone...but if someone in my family want something they need and can't afford...I'll help
Don't send cards...well one, to my son and his fiance,
Just a tree up, no decs,
all the consumerism sticks in my throat

I like a packed pub....it's a nice atmosphere

Not really being a Scrooge but Mistletoe & everyone who thinks that you owe them a kiss just because they've brought a sprig in

& if you do give them a kiss it's supposed to be a peck not some excuse to attempt to have a full on make-out session

Spending an age finding your secret santa a gift and getting a load of crap back,

What makes me a "Scrooge" ?

People using the term "Bah Humbug" if you dare express anything other than blind, uncontrollable glee at this time of year.

Many people can dislike this time of year for many reasons - it doesn't automatically make them "Scrooge".

I'm particularly broke at the moment and the tills at the village Co-op (an expensive enough shop as it is) are constantly besieged by kiddies offering to pack or just standing there hopefully with collection tins. I gave one day as it was an overseas cause I'm familiar with and the kid displayed not the slightest knowledge or interest - despite the involvement of her school. I'm there most days and each day there is a different mob. Today it was the Scouts... I have mastered the art of gazing blankly into the distance while affecting not to see the beseeching child inches from my nose.
Just call me the Christmas Grinch

We've had three different work meals out with different groups and then the Foxes supporters club do tomorrow. My girlfriend has had her work party, two zumba parties, history group party and about three girls' nights. Tonight she is going to Hakamou for a Hawaiian Christmas party. It's bloody insane.

Women generally have a far happier disposition than men! Experience and threads such as this tell me so.

It's mainly men who are the miserable sods.. I admit i'm in that club on occasions

I hate having guests to Xmas dinner but the OH wants them. All extra spending, hassle and shopping. If it's just us it doesn't matter if we forget something. I'd be happy with a ready meal for Xmas dinner. Wouldn't bother me at all. Why should we slave and cook and prepare for others but OH says it's boring just us.

I'm sure you'll be able to wing it.

The best way to save money at Christmas is not to take part in the 'Winter Trading Festival'.
