I loved Geri! I remember that year of students really well.
I'm sure the lat lot were the Maddie/Tilly crowd who were also good.

I remember them having a Halloween party and I think Alex dressed up as a mummy (!) Or at least someone dressed up as a mummy ...

There was another female student from the Geri/Anna era who I can't remember. She was tall with dark hair and I have a feeling she didn't stay around as long as the others?

One of the girls who used to have blonde hair and then she went away and had a makeover and came back looking like P!nk from the Just Like a Pill video! And her best friend who was gay.
I hated Zara for some reason.
I also used to not being able to stand Lisa (to be fair I think it's because she was in every single storyline) but when she left and appeared in Hollyoaks In the City I loved her.
Speaking of which, they SO should have continued with In the City. It was so dark and creepy but entertaining. Might rewatch it on YouTube..

Wasn't it Nicky? There were 5 of them arrived together - 3 girls and 2 boys. Sam was the other boy I think?

I loved that group! Jamil and Lee were really funny together.
The real classic group was Kris, Zoe, Jess etc. But I also liked Scott, Barney, Annalise and Rob - they were totally wasted and went far too soon.
After that, they pretty much gave up trying.

The Hollyoaks student set up was great as it brought together such different characters into one setting.
Why other soaps haven't experimented with a student house is beyond me.

Yes, I remember Nicky too. She got Meningitus and caught up in the Millenium fire blast that Rob set off. Then she changed into a bit of a cow and left after about a year.
The university, ir Community College as it was back then, was quite central to the original group with Ruth, Jude, Rob, Suzy and I think Lewis all going there. They didn't live together though.
Most of the soaps have touched on it with Michelle having Rachel and anither girl from Uni live with her in EE in the early 90s and Jenny having Uni friends with her in the late 80s in Corrie. I think we saw Rachel Hughes in student hpusing in Leeds on Emmerdale too, also late 80s as she, Jenny and myself were all the same academic year so it sticks in my mind.

Thanks kitkat. I do remember HCC being part of Hollyoaks from the earlier days, but couldn't remember the halls element pre-Geri/Anna.
I know that Corrie made an attempt at the student house in the early 90s with Jenny, Flick Khan and then later Angie Freeman and it did work to some degree but I'd really like to see them attempt it again. The mix of characters with little or not ties to each other and the rest of the street is something that Corrie is crying out for in my opinion.

Yes, she had a bit of a fling with lovely Cameron Clarke (not the current evil psycho Cameron.) I remember really rooting for them and was so annoyed when she was written out suddenly.

Thats right!! I remember them finding a note and a photograph I think... Like she actually came from a completely different background and was hiding it.
