This was on again last night on ch 5, a recording from 1982. Great show.

Although I notice that Jim Davidson was listed in the credits at the end, but he must have been edited out of last night's show as he never appeared.

I wander what he said that was acceptable in the 80s, and probably in subsequent showings in the 90s and Naughties, but isn't now?

Probably everything......

I was waiting to see if C5 would let through any Davidson material that would offend modern sensibilities. I didn't expect him to be cut altogether.

This tweet gives some insight into what the problem might have been:

Thought I had been transported back to the wheeltappers and shunters social club from the 70s watching this even though it was done in 82. Really DID seem to be the dying embers of the ITV shows of that ilk

I think this is the fourth year in a row that this 80s show has been on TV. It's always worth watching, though, just for the Sideboard Song and Albert Lee's guitar playing.

Loved it - love their songs. So many same old same old shows are churned out every Christmas time - most of 'em I love, so not complaining.
