And the number of managers as well ...
The pilon affair showed that they met the target 18 months earlier ,
And since then there are many posts gone..
Like tv Channel controllers etc etc...

The PwC study concluded that the BBC was amongst the most e cient organisations in the public sector and regulated industries in terms of managing overheads. In 2015/16, 94% of the BBC’s controllable spend was focused on content and delivery, with just 6% spent on running the organisation. This is well below both the public sector average of 11%, and the regulated industry average of 9%.

A lot of spurious claims are made by and about other organisations. I remember a talk about QA, three companies / organisations were named as being good examples of the use of QA. They were probably the three most shambolic companies / organisations that I could think of.

Our boss came back from a management meeting talking about that other favourite - removing layers of management. They had been given the local supermarket chain as an example and told the girl on the checkout could take a problem direct to the manager because it was such a slim organisation with few layers of management. So a colleague asked one of the checkout operators. It was complete b######s, there was a long chain of levels between checkout operator and manager.
