Depends on what you want. I upgraded as my old 1tb box hard drive failed and rather than take the hit twice on losing all of my recordings, took the plunge now.

Interface is excellent and very 21st century and I like the multi-recording flexibility of more than just 2 at once. Platform still isn't without its bugs but on the whole I am impressed.

I know a lot of people have reported issues with the mini boxes too but I have 2 of them and so far so good. Guess a lot depends on the configuration of your house and the quality of network around the building.

I have friends and family discounts and it'll be shown in the link below of all the info needed so fire me a PM if you would like one. This is a new customer offer so if you currently have sky you wouldnt qualify unfortunately but if you PM I can help you get it regardless.
Details of the offer are in the pic below! Fire me a PM if you're interested in giving it a bash!

I upgraded to get more tuners. The lack of +1 HD channels, the poor On Demand offerings for 'documentary' channels, back to back showings and shows not always starting on the hour or half hour meant that even with my Freesat box I was struggling to record everything.

The Sky Q works but is a bit of a rough transition from Sky+.

* There are no reminders.
* There are no favourites.
* It takes two button presses to get to the TV guide and then it only covers two thirds of the horizontal screen space and behaves oddly when moving left/right (it has some kind of 'auto scroll' feature for partially visible programme titles).
* There are no scroll bars on the recordings listing and nor can you page up/down.

All in all the UI looks modern but feels poorly implemented. As someone on the official forums suggested it's like the designer did all their work using a tablet ("because it's 'cool'" probably) then spent five minutes trying to map remote buttons to actions.

There's supposed to be a big(ish) update coming this month so I'm hoping that someone who knows what they are doing has reworked the UI and smoothed away the rough edges.
