What's this trend of reporting on the Daily Fail that so and so "share" children? It's as daft as they "welcomed baby Spudulika". And I don't mean separated couples either.

Doesn't a couple just have a family/children? Or is it the new caring, sharing DM reporting?

It's bonkers.

My new pet hate is when papers put 'We reached out to X's spokesperson for a comment'.

What on earth is wrong with 'asked'....?

The Mirror seems to be particularly enamoured with this phrasing.

I think "reached out to" is vaguer than "asked". So you could "reach out to" by leaving a message on an answering machine (on Friday evening when you know they won't hear it until Monday) and then run the story over the weekend.

Actually, 'sharing' and 'reaching out' are part of the new vocabulary of an age which dishonestly has declared itself to be 'more caring'. That, of course, is bollocks. If we really were more caring, there wouldn't have been more than 1,000 young girls raped in Rotherham and Rochdale and, worse, their complaints utterly ignored when they spoke of it and the girls written off as wild and attention-seeking. Then there is the scale of paedophilia which is becoming apparent. More 'caring'? My arse. More hypocritical more like.

YES. THIS. YOU SLAYED/SLEIGHED IT...

I work in social care & this new vocabulary is part of its own hypocritical agenda.

My favourite are agency names : 'Heart Of The South' being my favourite vomit-inducing company name....

I think this is often a term they apply to a couple who are unmarried - but also increasingly it is used in relation to a man and woman who are NO LONGER a couple.
