It's funny because there were rumours all through the 90s but what surprised me about the LA incident is it revealed he still had a sense of humour I'd thought that disapeared years ago. Ironic when you posted that - RIP George you will be missed.
When the news flash appeared on my TV screen on Christmas night, I felt a chill down my back, honestly. I remembered my post on this forum. Scared me a bit . I hadn't really been in the loop about any news re GM for a long time. RIP GM you will be missed

Difficulty I have with the comments that claim racism, is that this assumes black people have no personality, so the only reason to take against someone must be the colour of their skin. This stops people being seen as people first and foremost.

It's a cause of unending fascination to me to see how people's minds work. How on earth did you make the jump from Bornfree's post to racism?

Incidentally, Oti was born in August 1990, apartheid legislation abolished almost exactly one year later, so your phrase 'grew up during the apartheid' is not only inflammatory but skirting the truth.
I made that conclusion because it's quite obvious what he meant.

Apartheid didn't officially end until the first multi-racial elections in 1994, actually, so Oti was at least 4 before she saw a politician who looked like her.

Her parents definitely grew up during it - do you not think that impacted her life in any way?

Because of the mood needs lightening Ore and Greg are such awful teases aren't they? Not so much as an open shirt on the program but the minute they're off it there come the selfies showing off the abs although perhaps there is a reason tattooed matadors do detract from the mood - Gorka's tatted Victorian gentleman at the beach was a bit of stretch of imagination or in my case powers of being oblivious

I agree , the same applies to people with disabilities .Some are nice , some are lovely and some are complete tools .The same as the rest of the human race .

Well colour me confused. It wasn't obvious to me at all. In fact I took it as a comparison - Jay = blancmange/Ore = ice-cream sundae. Both perfectly nice, but one way more exciting than the other.

As for Oti - she went to University which seems a perfectly normal thing to do, so once again, I have to disagree with your question. Oh and if I ever see a politician who looks like me, I'll smash all my mirrors!

Don't make assumptions Another assumption you have made is that I am a man just because you are one. People like you who make assumptions cause untold problems.

From one line of my post Nakatomi has deduced that my post was about colour and race. I fear for the children who are taught reading comprehension badly at school. No wonder the 2016 SATS reading test results were appalling.

Oh are you really going to play that card? That we're all racists? ............................................................................................................................................................

The reason we don't like Ore is because he is incredibly smug and he came off as knowing exactly what he was doing - he didn't seem genuine at all. It then became more obvious that the BBC were really pushing him to win and would ruin anybody else's chances to do so.
I personally think that your post sums up exactly why some people didn't take to Ore.
I don't understand why anyone should be wondering why people have it in for Ore - when so many posters have already said very succinctly on this thread why they didn't take to him.

I liked Ore at the start, he irritated the hell out of me by then end and I think if his trousers had been a couple of inches higher in his selfie it wouldn't have caused as much comment as it did.

His colour has nothing to do with how I feel about him.

But his Jeans were done up he was even wearing a belt, there was NO pubes showing as some claimed there was.
Obviously he was wearing low rise Jeans, perfectly acceptable.

I feel a lot of people have a wishful & vivid imagination
Any reason to have a go at Ore

I can't speak for Nakatomi but I also took the comment to be about racism.
If you have time to read through the week 4 spoiler thread you'll see why.

Maybe he should have a word with simon the cowell about that, maybe he could help! While he's at it maybe 'reo' could ask about the length of dermutt's contract, too......

I don't know why you are agreeing with this guy. Did you read my post. No. But you read the assumptions made by this guy.

Here we are with Ore bashing thread number 279 then.
It seems a very long stretch to conclude that because Ore took a topless selfie and uploaded it to social media, this is the (straw clutching) evidence that he is completely false, fake, insincere, deceitful, bla, bla, bla, bla.
The steam is still pouring out of the Danny and Claudia supporters' ears and an artificial storm has now been whipped up over an innocuous photo. Hopefully, they can learn to let go of their Strictly 2016 disappointments and look forward to a fresh start in autumn 2017.

I was actually agreeing to his second paragraph about why we didn't like Ore. However, I do agree with the feeling like a few on here that the OP was trying to make out that if you didn't like the selfie or Ore that we are racist. Perhaps I should have just highlighted the second paragraph - would that have made you happy.

That was in week 4. Looks like you have way too much time on your hands.

I can't believe that there is an 11 (!!) page thread about Ore's selfie.

Me too, for the exact same reason.
We are now talking about the selfies, not week four. If you have made assumptions about what I meant than you have something to hide. I think some people dont like Ore because he is successful, confident and a very cheeky chappie which people dont expect someone like him to be. Because he is a sports news reader, it is expected that he should me very restrained.

I wasn't going to comment on this thread any more but, as I have just been dragged back on the thread by another poster to explain myself I would like to reply to your post.

I do not like Ore. I don't like his selfie. I am not a disappointed Danny or Claudia supporter and I think you are being disingenuous to forum members who like me dont like Ore or his selfie by insinuating that there is steam coming out of our ears.

OK we get it that you like Ore, please allow other people who don't like him to make comments it is a forum when all said and done.

There are more people who don't like Ore so does it mean that people who do like him cant defend him? And I still cant understand why they don't like him. To me he is a successful man with a beautiful wife, confident in himself and why shouldn't he be.?

Some of the comments are down right nasty. Not constructive. Is it OK to allow others to make nasty comments that have nothing to do with what the person really is like?

Lucky man either way he is attracting lots of attention. Won't do his career any harm. Bad publicity is better than none as they say in the business. Good luck Ore!!
