Who claimed racism on this thread? Well the trouble with comments about assuming that people claim racism is very short sighted. Ore has won because he did well. Ore is successful. Ore has a beautiful wife. Ore is articulate. All round he is a good bloke IMO.

Not all Danny fans dislike Ore. I wanted Danny to win but I still voted for Ore up until the final.

Ha. I also wanted Danny to win but never voted for him - well, until the final. Mind you, I also never voted for Ore. Just my favourite of the ones in danger each week.

Some people have really got it in for Ore. Wonder why?
Not stating a reason as to what you are wondering about invites speculation as you were well aware when you posted such an ill defined comment.

The negativity towards Ore exists in a context that the individuals concerned must at some level understand. But no one's declaring it, which leads naturally to speculation. My own nervousness about the driver for the forum reaction (and beyond) have had me sitting on my hands right through this series.
Oh are you really going to play that card? That we're all racists? Why the universal love for Danny and Oti (South African who grew up during the Apartheid?) or the fact many of us loved Alesha, or Ricky Whittle? A lot of us were sad to see Melvin go week 1 too.

The reason we don't like Ore is because he is incredibly smug and he came off as knowing exactly what he was doing - he didn't seem genuine at all. It then became more obvious that the BBC were really pushing him to win and would ruin anybody else's chances to do so.

There are a whole host of assumptions between a lot of people.

I did not direct my post at anyone in particular, yet it is funny how you pounce on things that dare to mention racism. Let alone that it is not the immediate reason for someones dislike of a person.

I am tired of lazy assumptions, as I posted before, it prevents people seeing individuals for who they are and shuts down genuine debate. One of the main drivers for this show is how people personalities come over. Patrick and Anya created a lovely partnership, as did Flavia & Jimi Mistry.

There are more people who don't like Ore so does it mean that people who do like him cant defend him? And I still cant understand why they don't like him. To me he is a successful man with a beautiful wife, confident in himself and why shouldn't he be.?

Some of the comments are down right nasty. Not constructive. Is it OK to allow others to make nasty comments that have nothing to do with what the person really is like?
Of course if you like him then you are entitled to say that you do but on the same token you shouldnt question why people dont like him. I will use Lens analogy which I have used my self in the the past, I love sprouts but I don't question why people dont like them. The same goes for people's opinion of Ore.

Unfortunately some people can go over the top with their comments but its a forum, so you have to suck it up.

I think Ore made an error of judgement by posting that selfie and the fact that he has apologised makes me think he does too. For that I admire him but I still don't particularly like him.

That was in week 4. Looks like you have way too much time on your hands.
Nah I just have a good memory. I can understand why you might try to sweep it under the carpet though.

Of course not, but perhaps they could do so without making sweeping generalisations such as all Ore's critics are "disappointed Danny and Claudia fans".

I would say a majority did not like him, people seem to forget all the Louise & Kevin fans, who may well have not been keen on him either., but like governments the biggest minority wins.

I never mentioned the R word on this thread. You did and that is why I pounced on it. I am tired of people making assumptions about what people think, say and do.

You might have a good memory but it is also evident why you started this thread. You knew exactly what you where doing. Now I will mention racism, not all Ore dislikers are racists, some people dont like him because he is not their cup of tea. But I believe there are some who don't like him because he is a successful black man. Ofcourse those selfies weren't his finest hour and I am sure he knows it. I am not sweeping anything under the carpet. In the first four weeks when all the black contestants left, it was a bit suspicious in my mind. You probably thought it was normal. But then you are entitled to how you view the world.

Yet I did not address you, or leave open ended non committal statements.

Personally cannot stand Ore's style of self aggrandisement. Would be just the same no matter which contestant posted selfies from a changing room, be they black white or sky blue pink with yellow spots.

This thread is very reminiscent of a thread many moons ago. I now remember how so many posters got into a pack and jumped on me. That was bullying in my world. I am not a fan of pack hunting. So I am going to ignore this thread.

IIRC repeatedly worrying at this subject on the Spoiler thread caused abigailsmum to give up. Simpler solution is the ignore function.

Will you reiterate what it was in week 4? I can't seem to find it.

Thanks in advance.

OMG, someone gives up but its OK to bully others. Abigailsmum was not forced to give up. She /he probably couldn't stand the tone of the thread and did not want to play any part in such nonsense. On that note you are right about the ignore button. I am choosing to ignore this thread altogether.

Must say that this thread is DS at its worst and I'm amazed it wasn't locked ages ago.

I can't believe that there is an 11 (!!) page thread about Ore's selfie.
Those abs are pure L'Oreal - they're worth it!

People need to move on. Danny (Sleepless), Louise (Bingo ambassador) and Ore (This Morning etc) certainly have!

She was asking a question not making a statement, I thought it was obvious
