That's not the information available.

"category B prisons contain a wide range of prisoners, some serving sentences for serious offences (including murder), others less so. This makes managing such prisons a challenge" https://www.prisonphone.co.uk/catego...rious-prisons/

People on remand are also usually sent to Category B prisons.

"It is a main centre prisoner for prisoners in the first stage of a life sentence"

It would be foolhardy to join in on a riot while on remand anyway.

Get real love. The reason prison riots happen is that prison officers are not allowed to exercise corporal punishment.

It's a fact that the majority in prison are 100% cowards, EG robbing people's homes, mugging people from behind and usually with a weapon, or a gang mugging an old lady/etc/etc.

Also, page 71 of this says all prisoners at Swaleside are sentenced. http://www.justiceinspectorates.gov....d-web-2014.pdf

Video from inside from their smartphones which they shouldn't have, destroying the place.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news...e-riot-9504332

The black guy keeps shouting to keep the camera off his face "no face no case" "no face no case".

What they NEED to do is make them eat basic bread and cheese and lock them in solitary for a year as punishment, then see if they want to do it again. He's holding snooker balls, I simply wouldn't replace the snooker / pool table, sorry mate you broke it.

We're far too soft in this country.

Cheese is a luxury. Give them dry bread, and water. If they can behave themselves for a period time, give them a small bit of cheese, or jam. And maybe a bit of orange squash with their water. But for the ones that cause nothing but trouble, no luxuries at all, just the bare minimum to sustain life.

What's he holding those snooker balls up for? Are they like currency in jail?

Just starve the buggers out. They want food? then get them to clean their mess up and repair the damage.

Some tear gas aimed at the rioters in the first instance of trouble would soon sort them out, stop them lighting fires and creating damage.

How do they even charge up a smartphone in jail?

I'd like to know what started it. It wouldn't justify it though, it would be finding out if there's a cause which could have been prevented and learning from it.

There has to be a balance. You treat people like animals then don't be surprised if they react like animals. Maybe I would too in certain situations. There is a famous quote which goes something along the lines of we judge how well our society is based on how we treat our prisoners.

What the hell is that?
You've just completely taken my post out of context and made it appear to say something which I never did.
You can't chop people's posts up like that. As far as I'm aware it's against forum etiquette.
