Dot did retire once but got bored and went back to work. It happens.

What an ignorant post.

My nan worked in her local bakers where she'd worked most of her life until she about 80 - some people enjoy working and don't have massive pensions. My nan loved chatting to all the people in her village and when she sadly died a few years later 2/3 of the village attended her funeral.

I love Dot. What's with this black cat thing though? Are they killing her off?

Time she died. I like the idea she doesn't put a cigarette out at home - falls asleep and perishes in the fire. 😃

I too have AMD. I consider myself extremely lucky to have have been born at a time when this treatment is available.
My aunt and my grandmother both had AMD many years ago when there was nothing that could be done and both went totally blind.
When I was first diagnosed I had a course of three injections a month apart and by the second one my eyesight began to improve.
A month after the third injection my eyes were examined and my sight was back to normal.
I now have an examination every month and if there is any sign of another "leakage" - even though I won't probably have noticed anything - I have a further injection.
I have now had 5 injections altogether in 10 months and my eyesight remains normal. The injections themselves are not nearly as bad as people think.

I am hoping they will use this story line of Dot's to reassure other people with the condition.

Thank you for the information & I agree this would be a good sl & informative also. I hope the injections keep helping you.

I don't like her acting. She's obviously done lots of stage acting. Don't like her in ee but apparently you're not allowed to say that so I'll be crucified on here.

Couldn't have suggested a better scenario. It's perfect. I just hope it happens soon, new contract or not, I just want her gone. I dislike her so much that I record the omnibus just so that I can fast forward every time she appears. I have this theory - she's like Marmite, you either love her or hate her. I'm in the latter group I'm afraid and there isn't enough character allowance for me to list all the reasons......

One has lost the plot when one is tired of Dot.
