My point is valid whether it was truly a leak of a genuine situation or whether it's made up. The only people to gain from the story are the Bremoaners and their tiresome attempts to frustrate Brexit.

The suspicion has to be that there is no plan at all, May is making it up on the hoof and doesn't even know herself if the UK will be inside or outside the Single Market.

Only if you are a conspiracy theorist. The plan wont be May's alone, it will be her government's and it is being worked on at present and will continue to be worked on until it is complete.

So why withhold anything from the one person she is sworn to serve?

The problem is that her cabinet are clearly sharply divided on the issue, some in favour of a hard Brexit and quitting the Single Market and Customs Union and others favouring something more moderate. In that scenario, it wouldn't be a surprise if she is undecided what to do : she is obviously trying to hold the party together at all costs.

Sounds a load of made up rubbish to me or just guesswork on the highly probable chance that May dosen't have a plan to share with the Queen.

It would surprise me. I think that she her government have and are and will be working on their plan well into the new year prior to triggering Article 50.

Corbyn is the leader with a wholly fractured party.

French, Danish, Scottish too.......

The leak if true would seem to show the problem of telling HM. If untrue , it shows the problem of talking to anyone.

indeed

She has a starting point nearly all her MPs and even 56% of the Remain vote agree on - the need for some form of organised national control on immigration. That starting point, and the Europeans, determine what else we get.

Labour has a far left leadership group that don't believe in nationalism, or immigration control, and voters and MPs that believe in both. It fails at stage one. And while some MPs might want to prioritise Single Market access. Labour can't start from there either - because the leader and those around him don't like markets , and regard the EU as a capitalist club that might get in the way of a more command economy.

Labour is more stuffed than the average Christmas Turkey.

How do you know that she has withheld anything? Is it likely that either Queeny or May would say one way or the other? But most importantly there is nothing to know until negotiations and agreements have taken place. This is just another load of Brexit codswallop, stirred up by newspapers that are only fit to light the fire with, or Polly the budgie to poop on.

What are you on? There is no plan, never was and never will be. Mrs May is naked of plans and is not a pretty sight. An old woman in distress and in dire need of a pile of fig leaves.

There's certainly a strong whiff of "May" in the air.

The whole country knows there is no plan.
In fact the whole of Europe knows there is no plan.

To make deals with there needs to be discussion from both sides.
She tried the same tactics with the snoopers charter. Try to push it through without details because she knows no one will agree from the Remain or Leave sides.

Queen: "So Theresa, don't be a teaser, what you got planned for this British Exit malarkey?"

Theresa: "Well, your Highness, I'm going for a red, white and blue Brexit." *winks at the Queen*

Queen: "F*ck orff! That's a flag not a political strategy you imbecile!"

I don't think there is no plan as such, the question is what are the Government's red lines when it comes to what it is prepared to give way on. The biggest issue is of course migration and border control.

I entirely disagree as I am perfectly entitled to do.

Looks like it is a leak from the Palace. Oh dear. May doesn't trust the Queen.

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/...e-relationship

When a leak emerges from Buckingham Palace, and especially when that leak tells us what the Queen supposedly thinks, interest is unsurprisingly intense.

Regal unknowability – as exemplified in the recent Netflix series The Crown, where the young Elizabeth II is portrayed as learning that she must stay publicly above the fray at all times – is an essential part of our image of the royal family, and so any claimed breaches in the facade are bound to be studied closely.

On Friday, one such incident provoked strong interest among royal watchers: the news reported in the Times that the Queen was “disappointed” in Theresa May for refusing to tell her about her plans for Brexit, attributed to a “source close to the monarch”. How seriously should such leaks be taken? And who would reveal such a confidence?
