What's funny about it?
Where did I say it was? (Though actually she was on the funnier end of novelty acts, at least initially). But that's undoubtedly what she was doing.

“The official offer came through over the last week. I’m really happy about that. I’m happy that Simon is backing me. Yeah, my career in IT recruitment is over,” she said.

“This is Honey G and hopefully I’m hoping to be Honey G for the rest of my life now. The X Factor has just made me realise who I am,” she explained.
Does she really think she will have a recording career for the rest of her life? Or do gigs as Honey G for the rest of her life? She might get bookings at children's events, but will she be happy to do that? She sees herself as a genuine rap artist. I can't see her appearing at summer festivals and the like. And as for winning a MOBO...

200k is nothing on YouTube.
It is for an indie artist who has no media hype.

A lot of people are saying CBB etc but what does she have to offer? She has no personality and comes across as cold, humourless and rather unlikeable so I genuinely can't understand what her selling point would be in a reality tv show
People like Cakey Hopkins have used CBB to launch or boost their media profiles.

Cold, humourless & unlikeable people can do well from the exposure.

Her mega fans might, we've seen it with quite a few X Factor contestants.

It is a flop though but I think in this day and age, No.35 isn't too bad.
It depends on who her fans are.

If they're hype chasers, they'll soon disappear.

She shouldn't have got past the first audition, let alone made the live shows. A few years back, that big bald bouncer would have been called in to escort her from the building.

I really don't get Cowells mindset on this. The fake standing ovations and gushing praise from the judges over what was basically an unfunny joke made no sense. They didn't treat her like the novelty act, they treated her like they'd just discovered the next big thing and the future of UK music.
I know Cowell believes he can fool the public but the rest of us could all see a chunky bird wearing Jimmy Savilles old wardrobe shouting her name out tunelessly and this time no one was fooled - apart from the 6000 deaf people who downloaded her appalling nursery rhyme

Maybe a duet with Fleur East as her next single?

And then it will end with Honey G joining Fifth Harmony

Seriously though, Simon's alway five months (at least) behind everyone else when it comes to realising the flogged horse is dead. Honey G ain't over yet.

I've just looked Frankie up on Wiki and even he had better chart success

On 5 November 2012 Cocozza released his debut EP online, which reached no 19 on iTunes.[4] 'She's Got A Motorcycle' was released as a single, with an accompanying video posted to YouTube. The music video shows Cocozza riding a motorcycle towards a wall of fire. The Daily Mail described it as showing his "energetic side" and receiving a "love or hate him". The single reached number 89 in the UK chart.[5]

Not defending Honey G but...

In my opinion, 35 on sales without streaming is not great given the hype and quick release but I don't think 149 is not what to focus on. There was a lot of Christmas songs streaming the week before.

Oh and Frankie flopped too, it was from a time when sales were down and streaming wasn't counted. Honey G was sat at 6 on iTunes too..

I can not stand Hopkins but she does have a personality and a certain presence about her that makes her good tv for many even if her persona is extremely unpleasant.
The difference I see is that Honey G as well as not being very likeable, has so far shown that she has the personality and charisma of a paper bag. Can you really imagine wanting to watch her in the CBB house in her cap and glasses just repeating her name and spouting meaningless drivel about being 'real' and 'haters'? She's a bore

Are you honey G? Why do you have to make that same point 3 times, and it is erroneous in any case. The official chart counts all sales including downloads and streams. That's how it is. I doubt we will even see a second single.

As for Cowell, the important thing for him isn't the music. It's the show. As long as the show is stimulating conversation, he will use that to continue to get ITV to contract to more. After all, if it is stimulating discussion (good or bad) then it's good TV, right?

Does this mean the X Factor class of 2017 are going to be wannabe attention seekers who can't sing and the token decent singer for good measure just to get people talking.

I think the worst thing about all this is Simon feeding the media in the way people feed bananas to monkey. The media lap it up, so all showbiz reports on TV will be about X Factor because Simon Cowell is the hand that feeds.

Isn't Walkabout just an Australian themed restaurant? Is this the best all pathetic Phoney G can manage? She probably won't sell all the tickets on that either.
She'll have totally vanished by the end of the year.
