I always used to say I need time off for personal reasons, if pushed or asked further I would say it was personal , hense personal reasons.
You have to given them plenty of warning, plus I would not tell anyone at work the real reason, as most people in the workplace are gossips. You have then done the right thing |

This after several of her colleagues at the place all gave highly glowing references regarding her dedication She's now been working with us for about 3 years and has never once been late and been totally reliable This counts both ways so giving glowing references to someone who is impossible to work with (for example) could lead to the former employer being sued. |
