As we should all know listening to the radio throughout the past month. Band Aid has had four different versions to grace our ears over the past 32 years, with each of it's sequels taking place on a symbolic anniversary of the song (5, 20 and 30). The most glaring ommision to this is a tenth anniversary version, which would have taken place in December 1994, just as the Britpop movement was beginning to build up steam.

My question is, as a bit of fun, what sort of musicians do you think would have taken part in a hypothetical Band Aid 10. Would the Gallagher brothers have seen themselves as too good to take part? Would the Britpop influence be felt on the song in the same way SAW was in Band Aid II?

The floor is yours

I get the feeling that at that point in their lives, many of the Britpop acts would have been a little too critical of the whole thing. There would be some slightly controversial interviews with the press and the whole would collapse before getting off the ground.

If BA 10 did get off the ground it would probably be singers from Take That, Boyzone, East 17, M People, Eternal etc. Plus the likes of Jimmy Nail, Neneh Cherry, Michelle Gayle.

It's a fair point that there was no Band Aid 10, however, there was the Help album released at the time, which raised funds for Warchild.

I still give it a spin every now and again. It's a good Indie / Britpop compilation.

2 Unlimited with a "No no, no no no no, no no no no, no no no poverty in Africa" refrain.

Nah, probably those acts Lee_Smith2 mentioned and some of the below:

East 17
D:Ream
Wet Wet Wet
Gabrielle
Annie Lennox
Erasure
Aswad
UB40
Seal

What about Band Aid 15 (1999) or Band Aid 25 (2009)?

Some serious omissions above. I don't know about foreign acts, but I'm absolutely sure that "Band Aid 10" would have featured these artists who'd hit number one in the previous year:-

* Freddie Mercury

* Mr Blobby

* Manchester United FC

A hypothetical Band Aid 10 would've had a line up similar to this:
