What type of Storyline do you prefer?

Story-lines where the viewer knows what's going to happen but not the characters..

or

Story-lines where the characters know what will happen but viewers don't know....

This is something random that popped up in my head that I haven't seen asked before or in a while, personally I prefer story-lines where I as a viewer don't know what will happen.

I'd say probably the latter - but I can't really think of any examples. OP, can you?

Anything completely new and original OR Soap villains getting up to no good, the villains are always the most fun to watch. Such a shame they never last long though, they're always either jailed or killed off in the most OTT Soap way. Very few ever get away with their evil deeds (Kim Tate being the most obvious one).

And before anyone jumps on my back no of course in real life I would NEVER root for them, not in a million years! But when it comes fiction however, the rules are different so there.

The storylines I really don't enjoy but are ALWAYS done ironically enough are the affairs! Boring, it's been done to death but oh no on they keep going again and again and again and again.
