Unfortunately he's been hijacked by a rogue reindeer and is currently heading into lunar orbit instead.

No for anyone this year.

....unless anyone knows who Santa's deputy actually is?

"Santa's" route today will consist of various trips back and forth from the sofa to the kitchen.

It will be xmas day in Kiribati at 10.00 UK time (in 49 mins) so I would have thought it has to be before then.

Pre-flight checks are underway.

According to Google, Santa is in the Marshall Islands.

One theory is that there are multiple Santas....which makes senses if you consider the physics etc.

If so, then presumably the Santas co-ordinate their efforts taking different routes...and Norad and Google are tracking different Santas.

Does anyone belive these 'Santa Tracker's'? santaupdate.com claimed that he left at 6am to do his first gifts in space yet Google claim he left at 10am for Russia?

I love the story behind the NORAD santa tracker.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NORAD_Tracks_Santa

It's all run by volunteers, which is great. My daughter and I enjoy looking at it a few times over the course of Christmas Eve.

There seem to be TWO Santas this year - the Norad one is currently in Russia while the Google one he is in Australia - looking at the time differences i believe the Google one more

Poor Santa looks as though he's bungee jumping.

Heading back up the coast of west Africa...so Santa might be in England around midnight with a bit of luck.

EDIT: actually he'll be in Devon next stop!

RMT and ASLEF have called him out on strike for safety reasons -- there is no guard on the sleigh. No sleighs until further notice
