Decent PC games to get off steam?
I see Steam have a ton of huge discounts and im thinking about getting quite a few games but im stuck on ideas on some good ones.
I mean I have stuff like Lego, Duck Tales, Dragons Lair, Mortal Kombat & Sleeping Dogs but unsure what ones to buy so after ideas. Off the top of my head I will be getting the Sonic ones along with the TMNT, Oddworld Games and maybe Tembo but cant think of anything else. I already have the Assassin Creed & Rayman games through Ubisoft and well my PS4 covers all the resi evil games. Obviously im more of a Platformer fan as just cant get into these first person shooter games. |

You can filter by game type on the Steam site, so do that and then take a look at the user ratings. Owlboy comes to mind as a recent release which has had excellent reviews (haven't played it myself).

I didnt really fancy going through 10 thousand games manually. |

You like platform games? Then this is the only game you'll ever need
Spelunky (2 quid) - http://store.steampowered.com/app/239350/ If you still want to spend some money here's a few more recommendations, all great games. Leap of fate (4 quid) - http://store.steampowered.com/app/363420/ Don't starve (3 quid) - http://store.steampowered.com/app/219740/ Torchlight 2 (4 quid) - http://store.steampowered.com/app/200710/ Assault Android Cactus (6 quid) - http://store.steampowered.com/app/250110/ Enter The Gungeon (6 quid) - http://store.steampowered.com/app/311690/ Stardew Valley (7 quid) - http://store.steampowered.com/app/413150/ Sonic racing transformed (7 quid) - http://store.steampowered.com/app/212480/ Dungeons of Dredmor (2 quid) - http://store.steampowered.com/app/98800/ I'll assume you're not into shmups, but if you are, pick up "blue revolver". Tell me if you are and I'll recommend some more of those. It's not a exhaustive list by any means but a good place to start. |

Shoot em ups?
Yeah I loved Galaga Legions on the 360 just wish they would have ported it to the PC. There was one I remember enjoying but cant remember if it was Deathsmiles or Akai Katana. I blame R-Type for my love of that genre. |

Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition for £4.99 is a bargain. Stronghold Crusader 2 for £2.99 is also a great deal if you like RTS games.

Too many awesome games to list.
Perhaps you could put a bit of faith in the Steam community and filter by user reviews? http://store.steampowered.com/search...ESC&specials=1 See what takes your fancy? I'd be prepared to go through at least the first 50 pages of results as there's just so many games on Steam. |

Yeah. Blue Revolver (7 quid) - http://store.steampowered.com/app/439490/ Eschatos and Judgement silversword bundle (7 quid) - http://store.steampowered.com/sub/79117/ Mushihimesama + 1.5 dlc (7 quid) - http://store.steampowered.com/sub/83631/ Deathsmiles (7 quid) - http://store.steampowered.com/app/314180/ That'll do to start but I may as well mention this too as it's 19p and great fun. Star Saviors (19p) - http://store.steampowered.com/app/314450/ --- Some other games you might like The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth (5 quid) - http://store.steampowered.com/app/250900/ Euro Truck Simulator 2 (4 quid) - http://store.steampowered.com/app/227300/ (I know what you're thinking, but don't think that, put on some music or a podcast and it's the most relaxing game ever made. It's not "sim" in the sense that you have to be a nerd or read a yellow pages sized manual. It's very pick up and play. There's something very zen about zoning out and delivering potatoes. There's a demo if you're not sure. Flamebreak (2 quid) - http://store.steampowered.com/app/399640/ |

Witcher 3 Game of the Year Edition is going for about £20. The two add-ons is included. Great deal if you did not by the original at launch.
Annoyed they are not discounting the season pass.

Day of the Tentacle Remastered for £3.73
My favourite graphic adventure game. Also The Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition for £1.74, another timeless classic. |

Europa Universalis IV if you like strategy and take-over-the-world games. My French Empire is currently (in 1732) in control of modern day France, Belgium, Netherlands, most of Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Eastern Spain, all of West Africa from the Western Sahara through Mali, Nigeria and down to the DRC, most of Eastern Africa, western Australia, Indonesia, Alaska, Sri Lanka, Florida and all of the Caribbean and South America. I'm just getting ready to attack India. I'm also the Pope and have designs on being Holy Roman Emperor. Next time I'll play as a country with less potential I think! It takes you from 1399 to 1820 so France, the Ottomans, Castille (later Spain) and Austria are very very powerful.
I don't know if it's on steam but if anyone likes civilization type of games then this one is the best I've played. It's very involved though and takes a bit of getting used to. |

If you like platformers you should look at INSIDE, unless you have played it of course and it recently made it to PS4.

I really want to get into Paradox games like EU and Hearts of Iron, but I've always been a bit intimidated by all the menus and sub menus. How accessible are the games?

Trust me, spelunky is 2 quid. If you're into platformers, you will ADORE it.
I've pumped 743 hours into it already on steam and at least 200 hours on the 360. It is the best game. Doooo iiiiit - http://store.steampowered.com/app/239350/ |

Shantae just reminded me of platformers of old that always seemed to be aimed at a younger audience. Not for me but YMMV. |

I'd say yes to Rocket Knight and no to Shantae.

If you like RTS games but have never played Age of Empires, you can't go wrong with Age of Empires Legacy Bundle for £15.79
When you spend 3 hours on a level without getting bored you know it's a good game. |
