That was beautifully done I thought, June is just a legend. I can't believe everyone forgot about Dot though. and now Dot has a cat for company.

Linda's exit storyline is done then.

Sharon's reaction was basically "Your not Michelle"

That was an amazing episode tonight - a good fine balance of humour and drama. I am tempted to have a wager @ 14-1 this could win the night. I've got a very good feeling about this.

Dot was so heart-breaking. All these friends and relatives around her seem to just forget her. It's so sad. The farewell party at the Laundrette was so sad. Nobody bar Shrimpy's brief appearance attended and she was there all alone. A good nod to the past with the Heather and Shirley mix-tape. A very sweet and sentimental touch and nice to hear her again. The photos of Lou and Ethel and the montage when she said goodbye to the Laundrette with Pauline, Ethel, Jim and Lou was so sweet and touching. Glad she took that cat in. I've got a horrible feeling she is going to be a shock death along with Phil....

Which moving on to him, I loved the scenes with him and Shirley and him and Denise at the graveyard. Good putdowns from Denise, who is still hiding his baby. Well acted from Linda, Dianne and Steve - glad these two women got through to him and he was there for Denny and Sharon et al. It's not looking good, and I reckon he will die - I just don't buy the "he has been resurrected" malarkey. It's a big risk but I can see it being done and the most memorable EE Christmas episode in years.

The play - I did like the humorous touch, especially Bex's line. I've grown to like it and Patrick has proven a point that despite his health worries he saved the day. Linda's woe continues and I gathered this would be Kellie Bright's exit with her Mum's health issues. Poor Linda

NuMichelle - I think the recasting is well done as people do realistically age. I have faith in her and hope she's a recurring character. The reunion with Michelle and Sharon bought me to tears. They are so much like sisters and with the Phil situation she is going to be there for her. Beautiful.

Max is back! And Stacey's overraction with the turkey is how I'd react!

myLee - he's going to be dodging that neighbour a lot with that stolen VR set, still don't get how they're going to fit around the table in their flat. I can see a revelation there.

10/10 - BRILLIANT!!

For some reason my money's on Kathy. That would *really* wind up Ian.

If it's Shirl I'd check your TV's colour ratio.

I liked Susan Tully as Michelle but I'm totally onboard with a recast considering she would never return and can't wait to see Jenna in the role. She made a good first impression too so bring it.

To add, I thought Kim Metcalf was better than Daniella Westbrook.

Great episode tonight. Really liked Dots scene as she left the launderette. One of my favourite Xmas eve eps in a long time. No overdramatics or cliched soapy revelations looming. Looking forward to the Xmas ep

I drifted away from the show as it felt like DTC had defenstrated it and the new regime was too little too late and rather dull. I'm unsure about the Michelle recast but hopefully the show is on the up.

I feel the same, I was doubtful at first but these last few episodes have won me round.

I thought Kim Metcalf did not get the character right when she acted the part. As they turned into some business woman. But the same character that was played before her by Danniella Westbrook would never have been that smart

I loved the episode. I watched it with my parents, and it felt like Christmas past. The Dot segment was so very sad.

I watched Corrie before EE and it was dreadful. EE felt so much more real and the whole episode was fantastic.
