- Seeing Norris's more compassionate, human side in Mary's storyline
- Yasmeen and Gail now emerging as strong, protective matriachs”

Yes to everything. I also think they have done more nods to the past. Gail mentioned Fred Elliott

OK I've thought about it.
What I like about Corrie is the number of original character/actors - replacement, unless they are much older - don't work for me. I love seeing the old characters come back played by the original actor. Eternally disappointed that Dennis Tanner had such a short return - why? That s/l started out so well and ended on a whimper.

Occasionally there are some funny things going on in the back ground, one that comes to mind is the saga of the standard lamp that Audrey put in the skip, it seemed to end up in every house in the street until it was finally put back in the skip. There are others that I don't notice until some one on here mentions it.

So, yes, I moan a lot about corries because it is capable of so much more, but I stick with it because I am a loyal fan of long standing.

ETA: Leanne's 'pillow between the legs' waddle is surely a background funny.
