I am thinking of moving from PAYG on Three to BT mobile sim only contract. I know that I can port my number from Three to BT, but in the future when the contract has expried woud it be possible to take my number from Contract to PAYG, either on BT or another network.

if you remain with BT you can move to BT PAYG with same number but changing networks you just need to port number over to an other network no matter PAYG or Pay monthly

You can port anyway you like, you get a PAC and move, the networks don't have different rules for PAYG vs contract.

Perhaps worth pointing out that at present, BT Mobile doesn't have a PAYG option - it's contract only.

No, they won't, they are run as completely separate entities. The OP would have to want to move to EE for that to happen.

Thanks. I thought that this was the case. However I remembered ages ago that Three told me that I could take my number from PAYG to Contract but not back again on the same network. This may have changed now.

I've never done porting my number in, out then back in again as I will just use whatever number is on the new sim whenever I switch networks.

Yes if you want to use tha same sim you can move from contract to payg and the other way on same network or to other network. But if you take a new contract with new sim and then want to trasfer your old sim to the new one on same network it is not possible
