She is surely joking. She is not the one to bind up the nations wounds, only make them worse. i do not trust her or her grisly cronies. There is the stench of self-interest, greed and hypocrisy about them, but Happy Christmas to one and all!

The lack of self awareness in this post is on par with May's.

I'm certainly not going to unite and move forward with the isolationists, little Englanders, racists, xenophobic, prejudiced, short-sighted, uninformed and minority of the population who voted Leave. Those of us on the Remain side will be fighting an on-going war of attrition.

You think comments like this will repair a nation even if you get your utopia of being chained back up to the EU. You think Leave voters will be happy with that decision?

You lost, get over it. Plus you're forgetting Wales also voted out and nearly half of NI and a 1/3 of Scotland. Does that make them Little Englanders? Pathetic.

Ms May does appear to think Remainers will now suddenly stand side-by-side with Brexiters and proceed to destroy the country ... Seriously delusional.

I once had a rubber knife, it wasn't very sharp. If I had it now, I'd call it remnant.

It is very hard to unite behind meaningless slogans like "Brexit mean Brexit" or "Red, White and Blue Brexit"

If she really wants to unite the country, she needs to give us something to unite for.

Sadly, "unite and move forward" is just the latest meaningless soundbite.

I'm convinced some of the more prominent "remainers" on these boards are on a wind up. The hysterics and venom is too OTT for me to take seriously.

You could well be right. While the 'broad church' of Brexit here manages to align pretty well on most things, some of the stuff posted supposedly from EU fans is so cringe worthy - particularly the outpourings of bile - it must put off some of those who voted Remain from posting.
That's a shame, so if any of the dummy-spitting-throw-toys-out-of-pram comedy acts are actually 'token' Brexiters or don't give a shyte beyond being a WUM perhaps they could think about a NY Resolution to tone it down a bit.
Mrs May would no doubt be delighted.

Surely anyone with any intelligence would understand that;
"Brexit means Brexit" means the U.K. is leaving the EU, and
"Red, White and Blue Brexit" means that the government will try and get the best deal for the U.K. In the Brexit process.

Only by not applying ratiional thought can one's own predjudice make those phrases become meaningless.

I think if you are a politician you have to support the democratic majority - fair enough.

But I am not a politician. I voted to remain part of Europe and I don't see why I should change my mind just because I am in a slight minority.

Only by not thinking about it can anyone believe those slogans have meaning.

As was discussed during the referendum campaign and ever since, leaving the EU can have many flavours, from Norway to North Korea. And "best deal for the UK" is also meaningless. Best deal for hard line Brexit fanatics, best for banks, best deal for manufacturers, best deal for workers are all different.

Try engaging brain.

The country won't unite - it was riven pretty much down the middle over the brexit referendum. Had it been a very decisive result I think it would have meant more unity, but it wasn't.

Nonsense. They are vague meaningless terms.
If she wants to unite people she needs to be less mealy mouthed and give us an actual plan.
She hobbled herself in this regard by trying (quite disgustingly) to bypass parliament and wielding medieval protocols of prerogative.
I don't trust the cow an inch.

No it's not, it's divided between those who respect that others may have opinions which disagree with their own, the vast majority, as long as they remain within the law and those that don't. This isn't something new it's just that the result and it's aftermath have reveiled a pre-existant phenomenon.

Those such as this intolerant individual are in the minority.

I'm certainly not going to unite and move forward with the isolationists, little Englanders, racists, xenophobic, prejudiced, short-sighted, uninformed and minority of the population who voted Leave. Those of us on the Remain side will be fighting an on-going war of attrition.
However it's shown us that many who think of themselves as liberal, with a small l, are anything but.

Quite right. Mrs May's flip-flop vague and flexible loyalties do not reflect those of the nation. She does not inspire me. As you say, those hell-bent on self-destruction will not get the support of others with more stable views.
