I was a remainer, but c'mon, this is happening, and I've faced it, we need to move on.

Some of the rhetoric I've read from hard core remainers is akin to terrorist talk.
How far would you go to never unite with Brexit?

In 20 years time we will have been long back in the EU. The geriatric pensioners that took us out this time will be long gone.

For now we can oppose by:

- supporting pro EU politicians
Anna Soubry for the Conservatives
David Lammy / Chukka Ummunna
the Lib Dems
the Greens
- joining pro EU unions (eg the GMB has offices in Brussels and is strongly pro EU)
- make every single vote (municipal, council, etc) dependent on the attitude of the candidate to the EU

on forums

- reminding everyone that we are owed 350'000'000 a week on the NHS and asking where the money is
- pointing out the ineffable incompetence of the May government and her three feeble musketeers - their infighting helps us Remainers muchly I must say
- highlighting the dubious actions of Farage - also a great help to us Remainers when the chief Leaver reputedly has acquired a German passport since the vote or plans to emigrate to the US

on a day to day basis:

- boycotting the DM/ Murdoch press / Wetherspoons / Dyson products / any British product associated with Leave
- holidaying in placesin the UK only if they have voted to Remain
- not going to parts of the country that have voted Leave.
- giving charity money to local projects supporting Remain areas only

and of course most important of all:

- asking for a referendum on the exit terms - so we don't leave at all in the first place.

Recent surveys have shown that Leave voters would not tolerate being even 100 pounds worse off.

There is no mandate for poverty / hard Brexit and there never will be. Heading towards a hard Brexit is the best chance we have of not exiting at all. .

Have to disagree there. If we ever want back in it'll be a lot longer than 20 years and we'll be treated like crap if we do.

how ? it is a membership with rules. the rules establish legal rights and we would have all ofvthem. we will have access to the Single Market, have a say on the (by that time, likely) fiscal and banking union of France and Germany and maybe some others, etc - exactly same as now.

Don't forget, the people who are now in their 60s and 70s were the young people of 1975. The assumption that the young people of today will hold the same opinion when they are older is a fallacy. That logic was used to suggest that the Conservative Party would wither away, but they appear to be hanging on better than most parties I could mention.

That's essentially what the Euro sceptics did... and it worked for them

I think that will go over their heads.

But yes that is how it works and one they will be 'old'.

Somebody help me, please. I'm trying to decide which side of politics the Remnants come from. At the moment, I'm inclined to say, "Sorry kids but you're not going to get your socialist EUtopia.

And it's that level of maturity that will guarentee there will never be any unity

Quite right, too many Remnants aren't even trying.

Convince me why I should 'try' to unite with those who are pursuing an ideology with which I profoundly disagree.

While you are at it, try to avoid infantile name-calling.

Me, neither - it would require me to become a person I have never been - and never wish to be.

How can you possibly know that?

I haven't changed my views over the last half century and know many, many others who haven't either,
on whichever side they fall.

we will back in the EU before you geriatrics have even realised lol

ps: we haven't left yet, and are unlikely to leave in the next 2 years - 5 years if there is a 'transitional arrangement' ( ie we still don't leave). Plenty of time for a referendum on the exit terms to be agreed + lots of Leave voters won't still be around then.

It will be back to "Remnant", "Remoaner", "You lost get over it" as normal... and they seriously want unity? It's like intentionally trolling the electorate.

It's Mrs. May who is asking for unity and you should welcome it. Once the withdrawal is effected, you will no longer be a Remnant, you'll be one of us Brexiters.

I don't think she is actually, she displayed a very lukewarm response to the idea of remain during the campaigning before the referendum, and this was noted widely at the time, she practically disappeared at one point and then when Cameron resigned she then mounted a very robust challenge to the other contenders for PM knowing she was going to be leading the government during our leaving the EU.

Since then she has not shown any lack of enthusiasm for leaving, she didn't need to appeal the High Court's decision on brexit but did and all the way to the Supreme Court at that, she has secured the vote of MPs in favour of the timetable and has consistently said that Article 50 will be triggered by end of March

She has not displayed any signs of being a secret, or none secret remainer that I can see, I suspect she has always leaned towards leave
