She's fine. I am pleasaed to see that her sp;ots have finall cleared up.

Her first job as Aunty will be to warn Rebecca about going with older men.

I'm sure I'm not alone, but I guess they've learned what I should have by now, no point in taking on the mob, the mob can't be helped, they've been drip-fed by too much of todays standards to know whats right.

Not sure what you mean by the bridge remark. But I'm sure it was insulting.

I'm not sure what Sue's looks have to do with this
Standards are slipping if you didn't get the bridge remark

I think I was right re.bridge and you are a Jenna Lover deep-down.

Maybe they could re cast her every 3-5 years like The Doctor he's managed 1t 12 times so far

I would have been fine with this if they got her to wear a Sue Tully facemask.

Yes, they are slipping...so explain it to me.

100% right with the Doctor Who comparison. It was clearly explained in one 1991 episode that Michelle has the gift of regeneration. My argument is dead.

The Wilmott-Brown storyline of 1988 was one of the standout storylines in show history with Kathy at the forefront. You can argue the actresses ability, but in my view, its difficult to argue that she was not a major face of the show in those early years.
It was a good s/l as was Hassan's cot death but there was no amazing acting, just adequate. It can't be compared to the Trevor/Mo domestic abuse or many other outstanding stories down the years. I accept that Kathy is back, I have no choice, but I still think it was a huge mistake. Michelle visiting from America, even with a new head, cannot be considered as a mistake of that magnitude.

Ah, I get it now,

You are accusing me of being that thing, what is it they say 'Troll' I beleive?

Is that when someone comes up with a good argument, with clear and concise points, and you bully them by calling them a troll, hoping that others will agree and render my points as arguing for arguments sake.

Those with a brain will see through it and continue the debate.

I don't take back the Merry Christmas quote though.

You're kidding right? No amazing acting in the rape storyline of 88?

Not agreeing with someone means you're a troll these days.

You're not allowed to think for yourself, to express your own opinion, to enter into a debate. Everyone is too lazy to argue their point, it's much easier to tell each other to 'get back under your bridge'.

Fear not! Very soon this forum will be shutting down the opinions of minorities by 'burying' posts (but at least we got this guy back).

He's done a decent job, I was annoyed at that recast at the time, but the character of Martin didn't achieve anywhere near the same levels that Michelle did, he's not in her league. I'm a strong believer that the face of the character IS the character.

Can you POSSIBLY imagine another actor playing Phil Mitchell? Answer honestly.

I don't want to argue with everyone so I'll be happy to keep it civil with you .
If Phil leaves tomorrow (without dying) and twenty years later has still not made a return then I would be willing to give it a go - not saying I'd like him (and same with Jenna) but I wouldn't knock the chance for some great stories - which SOC has shown he is capable of - although in my scenario I'd suspect Phil would be too old to make an impact in twenty years - although Derek is proving me wrong about bringing back older, long gone characters - and sorry if you didn't understand my comments about Michelle being beautiful but she was a crush of mine all those years back (after I lost interest in Pat - I did have a thing for older women back the - Celia in Home and Away and Madge in Neighbours were a couple more) and I just feel i I am willing to give a chance for Jenna to bring my 'crush' to life anyone can - but obviously you feel different and that's your opinion - I just hope it doesn't affect your enjoyment of future storylines - it looks like there maybe a two-hander in January which could be great if Jenna and letitia pull it off

Well obviously I'm not kidding. It was well written and they did a decent enough job with it, but it certainly wouldn't be in my top 20 or even 30 s/ls.

Me saying it, doesn't make it so. It sparks debate.

Obviously I can't take people's opinions away from them.

So, are you ok with any and all characters being played by someone else. Lets bring into characters that mean a lot to todays young EE fans (the ones that matter) If Mick Carter is suddenly played by someone else on Monday, is that ok?

How can it have the same magic? Dean and Tully were inseparable for a decade on screen. You could well have believed them to have been lifelong friends.

Oh, and I had a bit of a thing for Shell myself, in the 90's anyway.

I'm up for any recast if the original actor doesn't want to return and there are storylines to tell. The only time I would find it ridiculous is if we started going down the neighbours route and recasting due to temporary sickness/leave (e.g. Libby and Cheryl). I would be happy with a Linda recast if Kelly left full time but not just to confirm error maternity leave.

She's been on screen for all of ten seconds, so I'll reserve judgement for now.

In my opinion it can - I for one did believe that Michelle and Sharon were lifelong friends at their reunion last night - will that spark keep up - I don't know but we can only wait and see - it will be interesting to see hoe Jenna's Michelle fits in with her family later today - and I think that will be true litmus test of whether the recast will work or not.

But did you have a thing for Pat, Celia and Madge too?

Why was Sharon wailing like she hasn't seen her in 20 years, she saw her in the summer

No, I didn;t. I see them as Grandma figures....not sure how you can fancy those
