I'm enjoying Jenna's portrayal of Michelle and it's a bit jarring seeing a different actress play hrrt but I think many viewers will eventually accept her as Michelle in a year time (or two).
It's true the old Michelle was indelibly linked with Sue Tully but the character has changed after twenty years and it's natural for her to come back as a changed woman. O'Connor has highlighted this in his interview so we are supposed to be seeing a different side to Michelle now but she's still the same person deep down. Eg: she was so insistent that she must go in the taxi with Sharon and Phil when she should have left them on their own but in the old days, she was always involved in Sharon and Grant's dramas in the Vic.
Michelle is a loveable and flawed character, she made lots of mistakes, never been afraid to defend her beliefs but she's also a kind-hearted woman. However, I didn't quite buy her confessing Mark's paternity to Peggy in the letter. I know people change over the course of a lifetime but it's out of character for her but she was apparently drunk when she wrote the letter.
