I didn't see an exit - just her about to exit.

Maybe I missed it?

Yeps, Linda has gone to Spain to be with her mum, that's her exit story-line.

I don't know, don't think so, think he might just do a Frank and walk.

Lee could still die and his funeral is off screen? That's what happened with Charlie (so we didn't see all the Slaters....who weren't there!)

I think Soaps should do this more often actually if they genuinely can't get the characters back because their respective actors are too busy to do so (Note: This isn't criticism towards the actors BTW just to be clear).

Certainly is a much better alternative than some ridiculous excuse like "He/She is sooooooo traumatised with grief his/her doctor had no choice but to put them into a strait-jacket and force him/her to stay in hospital against his/her will so unfortunately he/she will be unable to attend the funeral *SNIFF*!"

OK that was a slight exaggeration but you get my drift.

I don't understand why affordability is not used more with characters unable to attend weddings, funerals etc. It's not easy to get time off work, and have the ready cash if somebody dies and you are the other side of the Atlantic or whatever because that is the most likely reason. My brother has lived in America since 1990 and has been back on holiday once two years ago but he has missed many family events due to affordability.

And that's fair enough but lets be honest here the Soaps aren't that well known to use such reasonable, good excuses like you just wrote. Instead they just write something unbelievable and expect us to buy it!
