I think I have Stress related Bruxism (Jaw clenching) - any remedies?
I think this may have started about 6 months ago. I have finally noticed I have developed a habit of jaw clenching when stressed or anxious. it's crept up on me for a while, but I can certainly recognise it now.
Is there an easy way to reduce or solve this? |

Is there an easy way to reduce or solve this? The dental hospital can make you a dental plate which only has slightly raised 'cushions' at either end - you only wear it at night and it prevents you from clenching your teeth and gets rid of any pain you experience in the temporal lobes. In addition, for the first week or so, you might be given a small bedtime dose of valium to relax your jaw. I suffered quite a bit of pain from this condition and the treatment cleared it all up in weeks. It's certainly worth trying. |

ugh it's the worst I had this for years and my jaw would click non stop. I would even hear myself grinding my damn teeth when I was half awake, I would also clench my jaw. I had to get a mold made to wear at night. It seems to have stopped for now, I think the key is to try and relax which is hard.
