Could not see a thread for tonight's episode

I thought it was good although a bit rushed at the end.

I just watched this last night and I really enjoyed it, thought it was lovely to watch a series I enjoy given a Christmas theme .

It was excellent and for a Christmas episode was spot on with the gentle humour as well- the Brechtian Nativity and womb remarks did make me smile.

I think this is the best series that Robson has ever been in tbh, and James is always excellent in any part he plays - Tommy Lee Royce is nowhere to be seen!

And A Christmas Theme Writ Large! So Obvious!

Sorry, blackcat; not a criticism of you. I love a bit of soft nonsense TV, but talk about the theme being somewhat, well, no room at the inn and all that!

Edit: and as for he Brechtian nativity, all I could think was, ''Well, we wouldn't have behaved badly like that, Brechtian or no!''

Gave up on Grantchester a while back because it had lost any semblance of a spark. Read a positive review of this episode so downloaded it and completely agree it was just right for a Christmas evening, gently witty and life-affirming. And it it didn't outstay its welcome; the whole story and all the comic interludes sped by in no time which is a big plus at Christmas.
