We had a big argument on Christmas Eve night, the first time we've had an argument since around February.

I am a carer for my Mum, so Christmas is the time of year I actually get a bit of me time alone. I look after her dogs so that she can go to my sister's for lunch. I really enjoy actually spending Christmas on my own. My real holiday will be when I have returned the dogs to my Mother and I get a few day alone without the dogs. Really looking forward to it.

i`m happy to be home now.
i could not bear to watch the hypochondriac on the sofa cure their "tummy bug" with the entire tin of roses and a couple of pints of full on coke for another minute. my suggestion that he should ring 111 about his "chest pains" wasn`t taken up as he decided to "struggle on", flat on his back on the sofa where he`d been all day. luckily he didn`t have to stretch for the remote. i left before i was tempted to deliver my diagnosis. |

Did you not fancy going to your sister's to be spoilt (I take it she and her family do the majority of the cooking etc) a wee bit or whas it through choice you not going? (even though you said you prefer Christmas on your own)
I'm sure everybody had a good time though. |

I was dog-sitting. And no. I prefer to be on my own. I never relax properly in somebody else's house. I like being in my own home.
I'm sure everybody had a good time though. I too like my own home at Christmas, as well-meaning as people are, I prefer to kick my slippers off in my own lounge Hope your Christmas Day was enjoyable.

It was only after re-reading my post I realised I might have come across as a nosy old sod, sorry not my intention.
