My guess would be because she was still in no fit state after attending the Woodstock festival in the summer and she misheard the warning to "stay away from the brown acid, cos it's baaaad acid maaan!" thought she was being directly addressed as 'Ma'aaam' and retorted "One
will not follow orders from an unwashed peasant.... Flunkies - go and find one as many of these brown acid tabs as possible for one to partake of..... immediately!" She probably still hadn't recovered fully by the time of her Silver Jubilee in 1977.

Oh, please no. Surely a brief mention of it during the normal news programmes would suffice? Or at least restrict all the monotonous 'tribute' programmes to just one channel, so it can be avoided like the plague by all staunch anti-monarchists such as myself?
Oh well, looks like I'd better postpone watching any dvd's I accumulate from now on, in preparation to amuse myself on that day.
