I'm wondering if they will leave in a 'happyish' exit - and SOC will surprise us with the death of Dot or Phil

According to the Soaplife and All About Soap, they do die. I hope they surprise us and there is a twist to the episode.

Yes but is the "Ronnie and Roxy to DIE" quote followed by a "?" or a "!" which could suggest it MAY not be true? - it is a ploy they use all the time and rarely follow-up on (although I suspect sadly they will this time - at least with one of them - hopefully Ronnie) - would rather a twist with both surviving and Dot/Phil dying

I hope they both do not die and there is a twist where they leave and the door is open for a return at a later. There was a DS article a while ago suggesting that R & R will be killed off regarding filming

That's a shame, they might not be doing much now in terms of storyline but they are some of the best additions to the soap in the last 10 years.

Dot isn't going to die, recent reports said that June Brown had been given a new 3-year contract (and she has already said that due to the state of her pensions she has to keep working).

Why would SOC be getting a P45 just because R&R die - surely considering he has made EE great again after DTC FanFiction he should be offered an extension to his contract - if TPTB didn't agree with is plans (death or not) for them he would have been replaced befor ethe story got under way (like Mike Gibbons)

They could pay her contract out and still kill her off - why else would she take Killer Kitty 'EthelJim' into her home? A quick trip at the stairs followed by a broken neck looks like it is on the menu for Dot's Christmas Dinner

Seeing as the report was only from September, there would be uproar if a cash-strapped BBC did that.

A mixture of ideas:

In the next few days, Charlie Cotton gets in contact with Jack. He says that he should know the woman he is marrying. Jack arrives at Vincent's house, believing something more sinister happened when he arrived last Christmas. Vincent tells him about Fatboy's death and Jack realises that she has killed both Carl and Fatboy. Jack goes to the police station. Meanwhile, Ronnie finds Roxy's drugs and they end up having a heart-to-heart. They make plans to deal with Roxy's drug addiction after the wedding. At the wedding, Roxy is nowhere to be seen and Jack says that she is proberly off taking drugs because of what sort of person she is. At the wedding, Jack tells Ronnie that he wont marry her because she is a murder. Ronnie asks if this is because of Carl. Jack tells her that she killed Fatboy in the car crusher and the police are on their way. Ronnie runs out of the wedding and gets in Roxy's car. It is revealed that Ronnie had heard Charlie and Jack and knew what was going to happen. Their 'plans' were to go on the run. The police chase them and they drive off a cliff into the sea. Ronnie's body is found and her liver is given to Phil. Roxy's body is never found and left open for a return. Jack gives Mathew to Charlie in return for helping him see Ronnie's true colours.

Jack won't care what Ronnie has done - its how his character is written. He won't care two hoots about Fatboy.

Even he would care if his wife was a murderer surely?

That was self defence as he was trying to rape her

She deliberately sent those thugs to kill Vincent (but then again, Vincent is my favourite character

Not exaggerating when I say its probably the worst I have ever seen the show. I would not be surprised if Sean ''resigns'' next year. The same way Bryan Birk and Newman ''resigned'' .
I am not watching tonights show as I already know how utterly mind numbing its going to be and I want to skip the part where they reintroduce Michelle.
Recasting her has just made the whole thing a farce.
The only thing this producer will be remembered for is killing off the Mitchell sisters and an absurd recast. The fact the BBC are running with this is even more bizarre.
Though I suspect they did not expect all the negavitiyy which the show has received of late.
Its going to become a cult show soon which only die hard long term fans will be interested in.

But it hasn't - I've seen just as much praise for the show (not necessarily on here) as hate - I think it just seems more skewed on DS giving a unbalanced view - Many people (myself included) have been entertained over the past months and have enjoyed the character development on naturalistic nature of stories over DTCs sensationalism and re-writing history. Plus I still don't understand the issue with Michelle's recasting ALL the soaps have doen it some to great effect.

Sorry, but from my perspective there is ALOT of negativity, its even been reported in the press this week! Of course its being praised by some, but just go on Facebook and have a look at the official page. A lot of whining and a lot of people lately complaining about Ronnie and Roxy's deaths, and it hasn't even aired yet! I don't remember a time that happening.
I don't remember any other soap recasting an iconic character such as Michelle Fowler. EastEnders well and truley jumped the shark on that one.

I'm certain Roxy dies as Rita has spoken out about being upset at not being able to return.

I don't believe Sam has said anything though so who knows.

Hello. At their time of recast I would hardly say any of these were up there with Michelle Fowler !

And as for my P45 comment, I truley believe SOC will not be there this time next year, of course I may be wrong, But we'll see, I'll bookmark the thread
