Coronation Street - Christmas 2006

Spending the morning watching this episode of Coronation Street from 25 December 2006.

So many classic characters who are no longer on the show or are no longer with us

Betty, Jack, Vera, Blanche, Emily, Deirdre

Love the scenes of Sally and Gail preparing dinner, with the joint Platt and Webster Christmas meal being particularly memorable.

David and Ivy's 'diary' was contrived at the time, but was actually a stroke of genius in hindsight, linking it back to a story that really had happened 16 years previously.

Then Maureen randomly showing up in the middle of it all when Audrey and Bill had been carrying on. Simple, straightforward family drama that is well written and executed.

Even the likes of Les, Cilla, Tyrone, Vernon and Sean are watchable.

Enjoy!

Blanche on Cilla:

"So how much cash does she needs to go swimming with whales?"

"It's dolphins mother"

"She'd be more at home with whales."

Wasn't Sarah just forgiving Jason over him jilting her at their wedding at the time?

Loved the dinner scene with the Platts and Websters.

David: "Old Bill's been a dirty dog hadn't ya? Who are you sleeping with tonight Bill? Is it your wife or me gran?"

Mind you I liked Audrey railing at David as well.

Great stuff.
