Admirable gesture. I just hope those turning up are those most in need either without family, friends, or food.

Could have a few thousand turn up for a freebee fish and chips with many eating cold turkey tomorrow instead. Right on the Norfolk/Suffolk border if there are freebees they will turn up regardless.

They might end up having to close the doors! Hotukdeals is a good site but occasionally things go badly wrong. A few weeks ago someone posted 4TB external drives being sold for £45 by RS Electronics. Too good to be true and an obvious 'typo' by RS but they were inundated with orders and phone calls until they withdrew the 'ad'!

They may have to start charging again during today if they get more than say thirty people at a stretch.

There are a couple of Kebab shops round our way open today serving free Christmas lunch for the homeless. Quite a few places doing it from what I've seen on Twitter. It's heart-warming.

It is a bit risky. They might find a huge family of illegal immigrants turn up demanding Halal Cod and Chips.

Really?

I'm sure that really bothers somebody on the street looking for their next meal and a bit of human interaction.

All the negativity regarding what is the real Christmas spirit - the spirit of giving and sharing - sharing their time.

What next, ban the sale of fish apart from Fridays? Good luck with that but i doubt it will catch on.

I was staggered at the number of people who were queueing to buy fish and chips at Mudeford (Dorset) on Boxing day. Don't these people have a pile of turkey and assorted leftovers to get through?

Leftovers will last a few days, I expect a lot of people went out for the day and had chips as a bit of a treat whilst out.

Better than spending money on advertising the traditional way, but that's all this is, advertising.

Lots of nice cafes in the town now, we even have a Poundland (where Woolies was). The town centre seems to be thriving again after a period in the doldrums.

Nice one, do they still have the eye show near by. ? I recall it being dropped a few years ago. Haven't heard much since.

Actually it is quite braggable. I wish we had a Poundland. Nearest one is 12 miles away in Exeter City Centre.

We only have two independent Pound shops and a couple of cheap and cheerful £3 to £10 shops.
They are sort of OK but don't stock an extensive range.
