I love how hard they tried to tug at out heart strings when she was speaking to Liam.

I don't know whether it was the abysmal acting and lack of emotion in the scene but I found it embarrassing to watch.

Hopefully now she has been sentenced to 12 months it should keep the shameless little hussy off screen for a bit.

I thought it was a very sweet scene, Samia gets a lot of flack but I think she's one of the shows most underrated actresses. She totally nailed that scene

Why is she getting arrested for such a petty crime? On Christmas Eve.

lovely scene but Maria is like Roxy in EE- all her stories revolve around Men however i dont think the Actress will ever leave the show, its too comfortable for her.

In your opinion, tptb at Corrie obviously disagree.

Why would anyone leave a job that they love if they didn't have to and that pays the bills?

I've said it before, you can't bring someone into the country and have them traveling around, not knowing who they are and what their intentions might be. A serious breach of national security. Acts of madness don't take holidays.

Exactly IMO. The tptb don't have to satisfy me. They can do what they like.

In the eyes of the law it isnt a petty crime. It carries an automatic sentence. I highly doubt courts are sentencing on xmas eve

The Home Office has described sham marriages and sham civil partnerships as posing "a significant threat to UK immigration control."
http://www.publications.parliament.u.../237/23703.htm

According to
https://www.gov.uk/government/news/c...tribunals-2016

Courts are not open on 25, 26, 27, 28 and 2nd Jan 2017. So open on 24th December
2016. On this occasion Corrie script writers did their research.

I am bored. Haven't got much to do.

Petty Crime? She allowed someone to illegally enter the country by entering in a sham marriage

Maria's court appearance was on the episode shown on Christmas Eve, but in the story it happened the day before - Friday 23rd. We only had one episode on the Friday, so maybe the Christmas Eve one was originally going to be the second Friday episode.
