So another year, another mild, windy, damp and cloudy snow-free Christmas Day. Northern Scotland could see some wintry showers though later today and tomorrow.

Tiss about 11/12°C, fairly cloudy and a bit windy but dry here in Lancashire. Feels very mild outside despite the wind. We did very briefly see a patch of blue sky and the sun actually popped it's head out behind a cloud for 10 minutes, a first for Christmas Day here!

Starting to get quite gloomy here in Lancashire. Not as dark as last year on Christmas Day though as that was very gloomy all day with constant sheet of blanket cloud and streetlights on by 3:15pm.

The odd gust of very strong wind, but generally mild (13 degrees) and drizzling on and off. Very grey.

My phone says it's 13 degrees, at nearly 8pm. I haven't had the heating on all day.

Unfortunately I have storage heating so I couldn't predict the mild weather - it's fairly tropical in here

The weather was bizzare in my neck of the woods yesterday, West Midlands btw. A mixture of cloud and brighter intervals but dry and, the bizzare part, incredibly mild. When the sun came out it was like an early spring day, no coat, or heating, required! Last Christmas Day was similar but, if anything, it was even warmer this year.

I don't think you can ever refer to weather in December as "hot", no matter how much the press (and the notorious Nathan Rao) may say so.

Today is a chilly 5 °C here and windy with a few bright sunny spells today. Looking dry, cold and crisp for much of England all next week as well.

Not seen any insects (flies and spiders included) for ages.

Today's highest temperature in the UK is 10 °C and that is in the Iles of Scilly which is about average for them in December and parts of Scotland are almost at freezing point so hardly "hot".

Yesterday was a different story though. It was the 2nd mildest Christmas Day on record with a the highest UK temperature recorded at Dyce which was 15.1 °C.

It was a slightly more seasonal 11.2 °C yesterday at my local weather station.

Daft poll but anyway, it's currently +5.8 deg C here S Hants, but we already have a ground frost, it's minus 1.3 deg C right now, on the grass. Frosty night to come (whatever the air temperature), no doubt about it brrrr!
