A refreshing sense of normality in the Dales, albeit slightly unmemorable. The scenes with the Thomas family were definitely the best.

Corrie's episode was sorely lacking a sense of community and family. It was an improvement on last year's and it was refreshing that they didn't resort to the Christmas snow cliché like they tend to do every other year. However, it felt like a disappointment. I don't really understand why Oates decided to use the Christmas Day episode as a springboard for the start of new storylines, rather than using it to climax others. There were some good elements like Bethany's all too believable self destruction and Norris going out of his way to make amends with Mary.

I enjoyed Corrie the most, the scrap was more funny than serious, and Bethany being kidnapped is going to be some heavy stuff.

LOL @ people putting EE before it even airs, DOH!
Corrie was best, Emmer was a mess, but Corrie had laughs, drama and some good new characters, thrown in. |

ED was boring and clichéd. I don't watch EE so I've voted Corrie.

CS for me. Wasn't that bad and at least had some drama to it, unlike the others. Its been a very disappointing Christmas though for all the soaps.
I think the fact they are on so much and they rush these episodes because the crew and cast go on a break for Xmas themselves. I really think they need to be cut down in the number of episodes, every storyline has been done too many times and long term viewers as many of us are, are finding it rather tiresome now. |

EastEnders won hands down for me. It was a fantastically written episode by Daran Little and had a well- judged focus on community and family. It was heartwarming without being smalzy and didn't compromise on drama with Phil's transplant, Lee's arrest and Max's return.

Loved EE last night. Much better than last year and just shows you don't need death and disaster. Great script by Daran Little.

I didn't expect to like EastEnders but I really enjoyed the community atmosphere in the Vic and Dot with her pussy

Corrie just edged it for me - it had drama, humour and a couple of beautiful moments with Max and Chloe talking on the toy phone to Kylie in heaven and Mary reunited with her son.
I liked EE as for once we had a feel good episode and the seeds now sown for some drama this week with Lee and Max and of course R+R. ED - it was a bit low key, fake (ffs it doesn't snow on Xmas Day) and schmaltzy. |

Don't watch EE, so out of the other two listed definitely Emmerdale. Though i enjoyed Hollyoaks too, strangely not in the poll.

I am voting EE because Phil Has gone for his transplant.
I enjoyed all three soaps, wish they hadn't been so spaced out in the evening tho. Have to say ED disappointed me cos Ashley was meant to have a great day, I didn't tnink it was that great for him. The Dingles stuff was good, at last Lisa stands her ground! Corrie, loved the fight scenes, Norris, the oldies and Mary was a gem. Eva getting a cat was just random. I am not liking Shona so far but the Bethany aspect of the plot is intriguing, wonder how it will all fit together. I din't like Phelan either just hope Andy gets away |
